[Local capillarotrophic insufficiency syndrome in patients with osteoarthrosis deformans (polarographic and thermographic data)].

The condition of microcirculation in the region of the joints was studied by means of polarography on oxygen with an oxygen load and thermography on the Soviet high resolution television set "Paduga" in 30 patients with primary deforming osteoarthrosis (PDOA) and 15 practically healthy persons. Different direction shifts in the levels of supply and consumption of oxygen in the periarticular tissues in patients with PDOA were determined, a considerable drop in oxygen supply to the regions of the affected joints being noted. It has been established that thermography is a method of choice for diagnosis of secondary synovitis and other inflammatory affections of the joints.

[1-Ethoxysilatrane: ulcerostatic effect and its possible mechanisms].

Stimulating effect of I-ethoxy silatrane on healing of acetate derived stomach ulcer was studied in rats. The drug was shown to inhibit lipid peroxidation and free-radical oxidation in blood and gastric tissues as well as to accelerate reparation in ulcerous zone. I-Ethoxy silatrane interacted with artificial membranes and affected the respiration rate in liver mitochondria.

[Atranes: their ulcerostatic effect and its possible mechanisms].

The ulcerostatic activity of methylethyl (sylathrane-1-ilmethyl) sulfoiodide, 1-(chlormethyl) sylatrane, and 1-(isopropoxy)hermatrane has been revealed at experimental acetate ulcer in rats. The effect of atranes was equal to that of oxyferriscorbone and exceeded that of methyluracil. All the compounds studied inhibited peroxide oxidation of lipids in blood and stomach tissues from ulcer and in model experiments in egg yolk liposomes.

[The anticoagulant and antisclerotic effects of isopropoxygermatrane and methylethyl(silatrane-1-ylmethyl)sulfonium iodide].

In the experiments on rabbits with experimental atherosclerosis the authors revealed lipolytic and antisclerotic effect of the above drug. It was also observed that it also possessed anticoagulation activity.

[Functional characteristics of the mature and developing brain following neuroimmunization: an analysis of the short-term plasticity of the rat hypothalamus].

In experiments on mature and developing (3-4 weeks old) rats the influence was shown of neuroimmunization with summate antigens of hippocampal or neocortical tissue cytosolic fraction on short-term plasticity of hippocampal CA3 field potentials under dentate gyrus zone stimulation. An increase of paired facilitation and frequency potentiation was revealed in pyramidal layer responses of hippocampal tissue immunized animals. In case of immunization with neocortical antigens the changes were less expressed, had mainly the opposite direction and took place in the apical dendrites zone.

[Surgical treatment of complicated esophageal diverticula].

In 1973-86 the authors encountered esophageal diverticula (ED) in 44 patients. The disease was clinically manifested in all cases. Concomitant diseases of the abdominal and thoracic organs were found in 27 patients; ED followed a complicated course in 23 patients.

[Neurophysiological analysis of the action of piracetam on the hippocampal neurons in rabbits].

The unit activity in the hippocampus formation under the effect of pyracetam was found to depend on the latter dose in rabbits. The ligand-receptor interrelationship with pyracetam seems to exist at the level of the hippocampus formation.

CD spectra of isoionic DNA solutions.

The ion-exchange transition of Na-DNA----H-DNA in concentrated salt-free solutions is accompanied by strong variations in CD spectra. The rotational force of the negative band magnitude of delta epsilon 249 decreases when going to H-DNA by about 4 times, and the value of delta epsilon 279, by 1.2 times.

[Impulse control disorders in adolescence].

This is an attempt of precise definition of the notion "drive disorders". An original definition is offered which differentiated these from related states. Based on the analysis of 76 clinical investigations, some general age-related features were found in the clinical pictures of the disorders, the systematics of their course was given, the criteria of expert evaluation derived.

[Use of combined complexes and lithium carbonate in the preoperative care of patients with toxic goiter].

On the basis of clinico-laboratory and radioimmunologic investigations in 139 patients with thyrotoxicosis, it is shown that in prescription of lithium carbonate with mercazol, more rapid decrease in the blood level of thyroid hormones, incidence of complications before and after the operation, cost expenditure is noted when compared to the other methods.
