Aplastic anemia (AA) is characterized by bone marrow (BM) aplasia and pancytopenia. BM stromal microenvironment is closely intertwined with hematopoietic cells by reciprocal regulation. It is still unclear how hematopoietic deficiency affects the bone marrow stroma of the AA patients.

Memory T cells are a heterogeneous population of immune cells that provide adaptive immunity. Its full recovery seems essential for graft-versus-tumor reactions that provide an opportunity for biological cure in patients with acute leukemia. The use of mismatched or haploidentical donors has increased, which has become possible because of modifications in graft versus host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis.

High-density planting can increase crop productivity per unit area of cultivated land. However, the application of this technology is limited by the inhibition of plant growth in the presence of neighbors, which is not only due to their competition for resources but is also caused by growth regulators. Specifically, the abscisic acid (ABA) accumulated in plants under increased density of planting has been shown to inhibit their growth.

Background: Cave biotopes are characterized by stable low temperatures, high humidity, and scarcity of organic substrates. Despite the harsh oligotrophic conditions, they are often inhabited by rich microbial communities. Abundant fouling with a wide range of morphology and coloration of colonies covers the walls of the Shulgan-Tash cave in the Southern Urals.

Fluoroquinolones (FQ) has been used after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HCT) for decades. This study on 284 allo-HCT recipients aimed to analyze the impact of FQ on pre-engraftment BSI. A total of 154 patients were colonized with resistant gram-negative bacteria, and 130 patients were not.

The extraction of lithium from aqueous solutions of LiNTf and LiCl salts using benzo-15-crown-5 ether (B15C5) as an extractant in [C8mim][NTf] ionic liquid was studied. The transition of the extractant into the aqueous phase and the distribution of Cl ions during lithium extraction from LiCl solutions were determined. LiNTf complexes with B15C5 with different LiNTf:B15C5 ratios were isolated for the first time and characterized via X-ray diffraction and IR spectroscopy.

In this article, we report the complete genome sequences of sp. strains B-10 (RCAM05335) and H-1 (RCAM05339), which were isolated from the water of the Dal'nee Verkhnee Lake in the Shulgan-Tash cave in Russia (53°2'0″N, 57°3'0″E). The sequences were obtained using an Oxford Nanopore Technologies MinION system.

Background: Although colonization is an established risk factor for bloodstream infection (BSI) due to identical strain, prior infection with resistant bacteria should also be considered during the management of febrile neutropenia. This study aimed to analyze the rate and etiology of recurrent BSI in allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant (allo-HCT) recipients to determine its potential impact on decision-making.

Materials And Methods: The retrospective study included 284 allo-HCT recipients.

Multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) are currently under intensive investigation for the treatment and prevention of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT), owing to their substantial immunomodulatory properties. The responses of recipients to MSC infusion following allo-HSCT are not yet well understood. T cells are central to the adaptive immune system, protecting the organism from infection and malignant cells.

A series of symmetrical dibenzylidene derivatives of cyclobutanone were synthesized with the goal of studying the physicochemical properties of cross-conjugated dienones (ketocyanine dyes). The structures of the products were established and studied by X-ray diffraction and by NMR and electronic spectroscopy. All the products had ,-geometry.

strain IB-Ki14 has recently been shown to strengthen the apoplastic barriers of salt-stressed plants, which prevents the entry of toxic sodium. It was of interest to find out whether the same effect manifests itself in the absence of salinity and how this affects the hydraulic conductivity of barley plants. Berberine staining confirmed that the bacterial treatment enhanced the deposition of lignin and suberin and formation of Casparian bands in the roots of barley plants.

Multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) were administered to patients after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation to prevent the development of acute graft-versus- host disease (GVHD). The injection of MSC did not always prevent the development of GVHD. The aim of the work was to compare the secretome of MSC effective and ineffective in the prevention of GVHD.

Introduction: With an increasing number of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantations (allo-HCT) bloodstream infections (BSI) are still among the most common and serious complications. This study aimed to analyze the incidence, etiology, risk factors, and outcomes of pre-engraftment BSI after the first and the second allo-HCT.

Materials And Methods: This is a retrospective study of 284 patients who underwent the first allo-HCT and 37 patients after the second allo-HCT at the National Research Center for Hematology in Moscow, Russia, from January 2018 till September 2021.

Objective: Acute graft-versus-host-disease (aGVHD) develops in 10-80% of allo-HSCT patients. More than half of all aGVHD cases are refractory to first-line therapy with steroids. We hypothesized that bowel wall thickness at the time of aGVHD diagnosis could be an early sign of steroid-refractory aGVHD with gut involvement.

A novel acidophilic fungal strain isolated from snottites in the active sulfuric acid speleogenesis (SAS) Sheki-Heh Cave (North Caucasus, Chechen Republic) was identified and characterized. The Sheki-Heh Cave is one of three cavities of the joint SAS speleosystem; to date, it remains the only of such cave explored in Russia. Highly acidic biofilms termed snottites are found sporadically on the cave roof in sulfurous water degassing zones.

An ABA-deficient barley mutant (Az34) and its parental cultivar (Steptoe) were compared. Plants of salt-stressed Az34 (100 mmol m NaCl for 10 days) grown in sand were 40% smaller than those of "Steptoe", exhibited a lower leaf relative water content and lower ABA concentrations. Rhizosphere inoculation with IB22 increased plant growth of both genotypes.

Indications of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) in patients with primary myelofibrosis are intermediate-2 and high-risk group of DIPSS (Dynamic International Prognostic Scoring System), beginning of the disease in childhood. The other adverse factors affect engraftment and survival after allo-HSCT, example partialy matched donor. But the result of allo-HSCT from matched related donors and result of allo-HSCT from haploidentical donors are comparable.

Aim: To analyze the effectiveness of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) from a related HLA-identical donor in patients with multiple myeloma (MM).

Materials And Methods: From 2013 to 2018, the study included 8 patients (6 men, 2 women) aged from 27 to 55 years (median 39 years) with MM who underwent allo-HSCT from a related HLA-identical donor (7 patients after auto-HSCT, in 1 case without previous auto-transplantation). All patients required 2 or more lines of induction therapy, while the achieved antitumor effect was unstable.

A new efficient method was proposed for the synthesis of (18-crown-6)stilbene; the structure of the product was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. In MeCN, this compound forms pseudodimeric complexes with -(2-ammonioethyl)-4-styrylpyridinium and -(3-ammoniopropyl)-4-styrylpyridinium diperchlorates via hydrogen bonding between the ammonium group and the crown ether oxygen atoms. The ammonioethyl derivative was synthesized for the first time.
