Intraosseous hibernoma: case report and tumor characterization.

Intraosseous hibernoma is a rare finding that has only recently come to light in the literature. We report a case of intraosseous hibernoma in the sacrum identified as an incidental finding in a 40 year-old female with chronic lower back pain. The tumor was characterized with all routine imaging modalities.

Comparison of outcomes in ST-segment depression and ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction patients treated with emergency PCI: data from a multicentre registry.

Background: Traditionally, acute myocardial infarction (AMI) has been described as either STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction) or non-STEMI myocardial infarction. This classification is historically related to the use of thrombolytic therapy, which is effective in STEMI. The current era of widespread use of coronary angiography (CAG), usually followed by primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) puts this classification system into question.

Primary angioplasty in acute myocardial infarction with right bundle branch block: should new onset right bundle branch block be added to future guidelines as an indication for reperfusion therapy?

Aims: The current guidelines recommend reperfusion therapy in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) with ST-segment elevation or left bundle branch block (LBBB). Surprisingly, the right bundle branch block (RBBB) is not listed as an indication for reperfusion therapy. This study analysed patients with AMI presenting with RBBB [with or without left anterior hemiblock (LAH) or left posterior hemiblock (LPH)] and compared them with those presenting with LBBB or with other electrocardiographic (ECG) patterns.

[Diabetes insipidus and pregnancy].

Diabetes insipidus is a temporary or chronic disorder of the neurohypophyseal system, due to deficiency of vasopressin and is characterized of excessive quantities of very dilute urine, excessive thirst and profound electrolyte abnormalities. The association of diabetes insipidus and pregnancy is rare with incidence of about 1:300,000. We report two cases of pregnancy with accompanied disease--central diabetes insipidus.

[Myasthenia gravis and pregnancy--a case report and review of the literature].

Myasthenia gravis is an acquired immune-mediated neuromuscular disorder, characterised by muscle weakness and fatigabillity of the voluntary muscles. It often affects women in the second and third decade of life with predilection of childbearing years (incidence in pregnancy--1:20,000). We present a case of a pregnant woman with myasthenia gravis and review the literature upon the problem - association of myasthenia gravis and pregnancy.

[Transcervical resection of the endometrium--an alternative of hysterectomy or not?].

[Comparative study of the endometrial pathology using flexible ambulatory hysteroscopy of patients treated with Tamoxifen].

[Cytotec: an effective drug for the induction of labor].

Objective: Our purpose was to compare the safety and efficacy of intravaginal Cytotec versus Oxytocin for induction of labor.

[Endometrial hyperplasia--hysteroscopy findings].

Endometrial hyperplasia is considered to be a frequent cause of metrorrhagia. Traditionally diagnosis of this pathology was made on specimens obtained by uterine curettage or after hysterectomy performed for benign diseases. Recently, hysteroscopy has enabled to offer suggestive images of this pathology, in fact it allows to visualize directly the uterine cavity and to perform guided biopsies on the endometrial mucosa.

[Alkaloid Content of Thalictrum minus from the Slavjanka Mountains.].

In Thalictrum minus plants, collected in the Slavjanka Mountains, the alkaloids thalmelatine, thalipine, ocoteine, berberine, thalicarpine and glaucine were quantitatively determined by HPLC.

Alkaloids of Corydalis slivenensis.

The known alkaloids (-)-stylopine, (-)-canadine, (+/-)-sinactine, (+)-nantenine, (+)-bulbocapnine, protopine, (-)-isocorydine, (-)-domesticine, alpha-allocryptopine and berberine were found in a mixture of alkaloids from Corydalis slivenensis (Papaveraceae), growing in Bulgaria. Dehydronantenine, corydine, predicentrine and isoboldine were detected by means of a thin-layer chromatography. Two other alkaloids - (+)-tetrahydrocorysamine and (-)-cavidine, were identified on the basis of their spectral data.

A new 4,5-dioxoaporphine, named corydione, was isolated from the whole herb of Corydalis bulbosa (L.) Dc (Papaveraceae), together with dehydronantenine, (-)-stylopine, (+)-bicuculline, (-)-adlumidine, (+)-nantenine, (+)-bulbocapnine, protopine (-)-domesticine, (+)-corydine, predicentrine, oxonantenine, (+)-isoboldine and nandazurine. Glaucine and thaliporphine were detected by means of thin-layer chromatography.

Alkaloids from Corydalis marschalliana.

The known alkaloids (+/-)-stylopine, (+/-)-sinactine, protopine, (+)-bulbocapnine, (-)-domesticine, (+)-corydine and (+)-isoboldine were found in the mixture of alkaloids from Corydalis marschalliana (Papaveraceae), growing in Bulgaria. The alkaloids dehydronantenine, (+)-nantenine and oxonantenine were isolated for the first time from this plant. The spectral data of these alkaloids are given.
