We report the attainment of the ferromagnetic state in an interstitially modified heavy rare-earth-iron intermetallic compound in an external magnetic field. The starting composition is REFe, which is the RE-Fe binary richest in iron. We concentrate on the Tm-Fe compound, which is the most sensitive to magnetic field.

The article presents the results of a multi-center observational study carried out in 2014-2015 comprising 630 male patients from 23 Russian health care institutions. The study aimed to accumulate epidemiological data on sexual dysfunction in men and test the efficacy and safety of biologically active complex NeyroDoz. Data for the study were collected using questionnaires.

Achieving a very strong magnetic anisotropy in a 3d material is a difficult, but not an impossible task. It is difficult because there is no general recipe (necessary condition) for a strong anisotropy in a band magnet. Several strategies can be pursued in this situation.

Aim: Study species composition and biological properties of microorganisms isolated from lower respiratory tract of 34 patients of surgical departments during mechanical lung ventilation.

Materials And Methods: 59 strains of microorganisms were isolated and identified by established methods from tracheobronchial secretion during intubation and extubation. Hemolytic and anti-lysozyme activity was determined in isolates by methods described previously (O.

A judicious analysis of previously published experimental data leads one to conclude that the ground state of iron(II) phthalocyanine is an orbitally degenerate spin triplet a(1g)(2) e(g)(↑↓↑) b(2g)(↑) ((3)Eg). The ligand field parameters, in relation to Racah's C, are approximately as follows: B20∕C = 0.84, B40∕C = 0.

The concentrations of stable organic chlorine pollutants (SOCP) in the breast milk of women living in Irkutsk, Baikalsk, and the settlement of Kachug are lower than those in the increased SOCP-burdened areas of the Irkutsk Region (the town of Usolye-Sibirskoye, settlements on the shore of the Baikal Lake) and comparable with those in Russia and industrially developed countries of the world. The content of SOPC is much lower than those in the developing countries where this pesticide continues to be applied. The breast milk levels of OCP, TEQ (polychlorinated dibento-para-dioxines and polychlorinated dibenzofurans) in all towns and individual indicator polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) in Irkutsk significantly decreased as compared with those in the 1980s.

It is demonstrated by means of density functional and ab initio quantum chemical calculations, that transition-metal-carbon systems have the potential to enhance the presently available area density of magnetic recording by 3 orders of magnitude. As a model system, Co2 benzene with a diameter of 0.5 nm is investigated.

Magnetization study of a single crystal of Nd(2)Fe(14)Si(3) (with the rhombohedral Th(2)Zn(17)-type structure) reveals that the compound is a ferromagnet with a spontaneous magnetic moment of 32.3μ(B) per formula unit (at T = 2 K) and a Curie temperature equal to 495 K. The easy-magnetization direction lies close to the b-axis, tilting slightly towards the c-axis.

Analysis of available experimental data shows that there exists a limited variety of shapes of temperature dependence of spontaneous magnetization. For most metallic ferromagnets the shape (as opposed to scale) of the M(s) versus T curve can be characterized by a single dimensionless parameter. A numerical description of the dependence M(s)(T) for a particular ferromagnetic material is thus reduced to evaluating three quantities: the saturation magnetization M(0) identical with M(s)(0), the Curie point T(C), and the shape parameter s.

A new polydentate bridging ligand, NH(4)C(5)N=NC(6)H(4)N(H)C(5)H(4)N (HL(2)), is synthesized by the cobalt-mediated phenyl ring amination of coordinated NH(4)C(5)N=NC(6)H(5). The green cobalt complex intermediate [Co(L(2))(2)](ClO(4)), [1](ClO(4)), and the free ligand HL(2) were isolated and characterized. The X-ray structure of [H(2)L(2)](ClO(4)) is reported.

The effect of androgenic preparations on the urogenital tract microflora in males of the reproductive age with chronic prostatitis has been studied. As the result of the use of androgens, the normalization of the microflora of ejaculate has been noted, which is characterized by the restoration of normal microflora (corynebacteria and lactic bacteria), a decrease in the content, or elimination, of opportunistic microorganisms and the inhibition of their persistence potential. The method for the correction of the dysbiosis of the male urogenital tract is proposed.

Presented are data of the follow-up (about 30 years maximum) of cosmonauts (n = 36, main group) and candidates to cosmonauts (n = 65, control) who were also subjected to the systematic medical certification over the whole period in the corps of cosmonauts. Analysis of the data on morbidity, body mass, physiological and biochemical parameters (BP, lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, hemoglobin etc.) revealed that for the most part, dynamics of the health parameters and morbidity in remote periods after space flight was age-specific.

The influence of hyperthermia induced by radiowaves on the microflora of the prostate in cases of male sterility was studied. The use of hyperthermia was shown to produce a stable decrease in bacteriospermia and the persistence potential of bacteria isolated from sperm. Hyperthermia produced a bactericidal effect not only on microorganisms contained in sperm but also on the microflora of prostatic tissues 1 cm deep.

The species composition and the complex of biological characteristics of microflora in the front section of urethra in healthy males and in patients with chronic nonspecific urethritis. The study revealed that in patients with chronic nonspecific nongonococcal urethritis changes in the microbiocenosis of the urethra were observed. These changes were manifested by a decrease in the number of species, the appearance of Grain-negative enterobacterial flora and an increase in the persistence potential of symbiotic bacteria.

The efficacy of transurethral radiowave hyperthermia (TRH) provided by Thermex-2 unit (Dyrex Systems Ltd, Israel) was studied in combined treatment of patients with chronic prostatitis complicated by asthenozoospermia (patent of RF N 2111773). The treatment reduced intensity of bacteriospermia, improved functional activity of spermatozoa as a result of attenuation of the opportunistic microflora. Mechanisms of action of TRH in therapy of chronic prostatitis are discussed.

Microorganisms can be isolated from most seminal fluid samples, but the significance of bacteriospermia is uncertain because many males lack symptoms associated with the bacterial infection of the reproductive tract. The data on the influence of urogenital tract infections of fertility are contradictory. In many cases opportunistic microorganisms cause such classical infections of the urogenital tract as epididymitis and prostatitis, as well as subclinical reproductive tract infections.

The results of the study of the influence of lysozyme on fertile characteristics of ejaculate obtained from sterile patients are presented. Improvement of functional activity of spermatozoa in vitro due to lysozyme has been determined. The method of the treatment of infertile couples by homologous insemination is proposed.

The paper presents the results of the study of species composition and biological signs of microflora of the ejaculate obtained from infertile males. The strains of the microorganisms were characterized by high adhesive capacity and multiple resistance to antibiotics. High antilysozyme activity in staphylococci and enterobacteria isolated from the sterile patients was registered.

The influence of sex steroid hormones on the antilysozyme activity and growth characteristics of Staphylococcus aureus was studied. The study revealed that in the process of the cultivation of S. aureus in the presence of the hormones the antilysozyme of these bacteria became lower and the degree of heterogeneity of the population with regard to the sign under study decreased.
