The authors report surgical treatment of a 59-year-old female with a giant solitary-fibrous tumor of the left hip. Previous excision of hip hemangioma was performed in 2016. Recurrent tumor with fast growth has occurred since 2018.

The density of 46 chemical elements and LD50 of chloride cations were compared. There was a significant inverse relationship of LD50 to the density of 34 chemical elements. Quantitative ratios between these values for the elements studied were calculated.

Transformation of organic substances in ambient air was studied. Qualitative and quantitative changes of organic substances composition under the influence of meteorological factors (temperature, humidity, ultraviolet radiation) and nitrogen dioxide were observed.

[Methodology of the study of the state of health of the population in relation to the quality of the environment].

The main principles and methodological approaches to the assessment of interrelations within the system "environment-health of the population" are presented. Conventional techniques of such an assessment, the area of their application and weak points are analysed. The focus is placed on the necessity of transition to a new level of research allowing assessment of environmental factors from the point of view of health hazard potential and possibility of health improvement at prepathological stages.
