The impact of particle size of engineered nanoparticles (ENPs) on plant response has marginally been investigated under the foliar application so far. Concerning the significance of particle diameter for their properties and interaction with plants, the effect of size should be considered in the analysis of the effect of micronutrient-based ENPs on plants. It is of particular importance for ENPs containing Cu due to plants needing a relatively low amount of this element, thus there is a risk of overdosing during application as a fertilizer or pesticide.

Phase III clinical trials for individual direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) contained a limited representation of subjects with abnormal body weight, which were mostly limited to a BMI > 40 kg/m, or body weight > 120 kg for obese subjects, and <50 kg for underweight subjects. Although low or high body weight is not a contraindication to DOACs therapy, it can significantly affect the safety and effectiveness of treatment. Due to the limited amount of clinical data on the use of DOACs in extremely abnormal weight ranges, optimal pharmacotherapy in this group of patients is a matter of controversy.

Zircon (ZrSiO4) is the most commonly used geochronometer, preserving age and geochemical information through a wide range of geological processes. However, zircon U-Pb geochronology can be affected by redistribution of radiogenic Pb, which is incompatible in the crystal structure. This phenomenon is particularly common in zircon that has experienced ultra-high temperature metamorphism, where ion imaging has revealed submicrometer domains that are sufficiently heterogeneously distributed to severely perturb ages, in some cases yielding apparent Hadean (>4 Ga) ages from younger zircons.

ALS-Plus syndrome occurs rarely and usually presents typical ALS phenotype associated with dementia, Parkinsonism or both. We reported a case of sporadic, definite ALS with pseudobulbar palsy, emotional lability and selective cognitive deficit in the presence of frontal lobe dementia. Neuropsychological tests predominantly demonstrated perserveration and dynamic apraxia, CT and MRI scans showed widened subarachnoideal spaces in the frontal and temporal regions.

Acute ethanol poisoning followed by drugs of abuse and psychiatric disorders is the most common cause of hypothermia. An attempt to evaluate the ethanol poisoning degree considering body temperature, serum osmolality, osmolal gap and ethanol concentration measurements was the aim of study. The HsdS and HsdM polypeptides of the type IC restriction enzyme EcoR124 have been purified independently and used in a set of gel retardation experiments to determine the minimum requirements for sequence-specific recognition of DNA by this enzyme. The HsdS polypeptide alone is able to bind to DNA in a sequence-specific manner. In addition, whilst the presence of the HsdM polypeptide gives rise to a stimulation of DNA binding by the HsdS subunit it is not clear whether, under the conditions of the experiments reported here, the HsdS subunit maintains the same interactions with the HsdM subunits observed in the absence of DNA.
