Intervention by medical clowns was proven to have a positive effect in reducing stress and anxiety, increasing cooperation and improving the child's experience prior to a medical procedure and during the various stages of hospitalization. Sleep has long been known to be essential for recovery from injury and sickness, improving immune functions, and there is an emerging understanding of the restorative role quality sleep has on health and diseases. Hospitalized children are more exposed to sleep disorders and sleep deprivation due to the hospitalized environment, anxiety, and illness.

This work presents trifunctional properties of the double-perovskite oxide PrBa Sr Co Fe O and the PrBa Sr Co Fe O -Ag composite prepared by the glycine nitrate process. The electrocatalytic studies reveal that the Ag-based composite is an excellent catalyst for both oxygen evolution (OER) and hydrogen evolution reactions (HER) in alkaline solution.

The convergence of cervical and trigeminal afferents on second-order neurons in the trigeminocervical nucleus may refer pain from the upper cervical spine into the head and face. Furthermore, "bi-directional interactions" between trigeminal and upper cervical afferents may also explain neck symptoms of trigeminal origin (e.g.

The results of examining patients aged 10 to 15 years suffering from vegetovascular dystonia (VVD) associated with the tetanic syndrome (TS) are provided. Patients with VVD not associated with the TS, and healthy patients of the comparable age made up the control. Use was made of the electrophysiological techniques (EEG, EMG, REG), vegetological methods (background, reactivity, activity support), neuropsychological (MMPI, Spielberger and Izenk tests), polygraphic and biochemical methods.

The above changes of the immune system could indicate both body sensitization and its desadaptation under unfavourable conditions.

Four RIC patients were subjected to combined clinical neurological, electrophysiological, psychological and biochemical investigation. Besides typical of RIC unilateral tonic convulsions in sudden and unprepared movements, several new clinical features were described including selective psychoclonic and voluntarily elicited convulsions and neurogenic tetany. Additional data point to substantial disorders in the integrative action of the median brain structures.
