Cine-magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been used to track respiratory-induced motion of the liver and tumor and assist in the accurate delineation of tumor volume. Recent developments in compressed sensitivity encoding (SENSE; CS) have accelerated temporal resolution while maintaining contrast resolution. This study aimed to develop and assess hepatobiliary phase (HBP) cine-MRI scans using CS.

However, the heat sensitivity of gametes has been much less studied relative to that of adults. We developed a method to measure the heat tolerance limits of lizard sperm cells, and used the method to test several aspects of sperm cell thermal biology in the brown anole lizard (Anolis sagrei).

Methods: This retrospective study included 42 patients (mean age, 70.2 years) with pancreatic cancer who underwent gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI.
The molecular mechanisms underpinning the development of metachronous tumors in the remnant bile duct following surgical resection of primary biliary tract carcinomas (BTCs) are unknown. This study aimed to elucidate these mechanisms by evaluating the clinicopathologic features of BTCs, the alterations to 31 BTC-related genes on targeted sequencing, and the aberrant expression of p53, p16, SMAD4, ARID1A and β-catenin on immunohistochemistry. Twelve consecutive patients who underwent resection of metachronous BTCs following primary BTC resection with negative bile duct margins were enrolled.

Measuring the faint CMB B-mode signals requires maximizing the number of photons reaching the detectors and minimizing spurious polarization due to reflection with an off-axis incident angle. Sapphire and alumina have high refractive indices of 3.

However, when the pixel pitch is small compared to the product of the wavelength and the focal ratio , or ≲1.2 , the Bose term of the photon noise correlates between neighboring detector pixels due to the Hanbury Brown and Twiss (HBT) effect.

SO is a cosmic microwave background polarization experiment at Parque Astronómico de Atacama in northern Chile that covers a wide range of angular scales using both small (⌀0.42 m) and large (⌀6 m) aperture telescopes.

We conducted this investigation using autopsy samples from the Japanese population. Blood samples were collected from 178 Japanese subjects who had undergone autopsies in Shimane Prefecture.

We investigated whether primary and metastatic resection of PDAC with oligometastases can improve the survival and then explored prognostic factors to identify indications for conversion surgery.
Patients And Methods: We reviewed 425 patients with PDAC who underwent pancreatic resection from 2005 to 2019.
Background: Zooplankton plays an important role in the marine ecosystem. A high level of taxonomic expertise is necessary for accurate species identification based on morphological characteristics. As an alternative method to morphological classification, we focused on a molecular approach using 18S and 28S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene sequences.

Methods: We retrospectively studied 75 consecutive PC patients who underwent neoadjuvant gemcitabine plus S-1 combination therapy followed by pancreatectomy between 2008 and 2016. According to the skeletal muscle volume index (SMI), the patients were divided into the muscle attenuation group (MAG) and normal group (NG) before or after NAC.
Objectives: To investigate the effect of deep learning image reconstruction (DLIR) on the accuracy of iodine quantification and image quality of dual-energy CT (DECT) compared to that of other reconstruction algorithms in a phantom experiment and an abdominal clinical study.
Methods: An elliptical phantom with five different iodine concentrations (1-12 mgI/mL) was imaged five times with fast-kilovoltage-switching DECT for three target volume CT dose indexes. All images were reconstructed using filtered back-projection, iterative reconstruction (two levels), and DLIR algorithms.
We performed the accurate diagnosis and complete surgical resection of a gastrointestinal stromal tumor at the mesentery of the small bowel. Computed tomography (CT) in a 62-year-old man at 2 years after gastrectomy for gastric cancer showed a mesenteric tumor, with no other tumors noted. Positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) showed a maximum standardized uptake value (SUV max) of 2.

Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 75 patients with bone metastases-predominant mCRPC who were treated with Ra223 between August 2016 and August 2021. The primary purpose of the study was to assess the effect of Ra223 completion (6 cycles) on patient prognosis, and the secondary purpose was to investigate factors associated with Ra223 incompletion (fewer than 6 cycles) and overall survival.

Purpose: For whole-breast irradiation after breast-conserving surgery, computed tomography simulation (CTS) and irradiation are generally performed during free breathing. In treatment planning, there are three techniques: field-in-field (FIF), physical wedge (PW), and enhanced dynamic wedge (EDW). The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of respiratory motion on doses for these three irradiation techniques.

While a wide selection of absorptive materials exists, these typically exhibit high indices of refraction and reflect/scatter a significant fraction of light before absorption. For many lower index materials such as commercial microwave absorbers, their applications in cryogenic environments are challenging.

Herein, new sampling method, a subzone-based mD-VcMD, is presented as an extension of mD-VcMD. Then, the subzone-based method is extended further using a genetic algorithm (GA) named the GA-guided mD-VcMD.
