Interactions among and between electrons and phonons steer the energy flow in photo-excited materials and govern the emergence of correlated phases. The strength of electron-phonon interactions, decay channels of strongly coupled modes and the evolution of three-dimensional order are revealed by electron or X-ray pulses tracking non-equilibrium structural dynamics. Despite such capabilities, the growing relevance of inherently anisotropic two-dimensional materials and functional heterostructures still calls for techniques with monolayer sensitivity and, specifically, access to out-of-plane phonon polarizations.

Peritoneal regression grading score (PRGS) in peritoneal metastasis: how many biopsies should be examined?

Objectives: The four-tied peritoneal regression grading score (PRGS) is increasingly used to evaluate the response of peritoneal metastases (PM) to chemotherapy. The minimal number of peritoneal biopsies needed for PRGS determination remains unclear.

Methods: A prospective cohort of 89 PM patients treated with 210 pressurized intraperitoneal aerosol chemotherapy (PIPAC) cycles was investigated.

Aim: To compare the efficacy of three strategies for real-time continuous glucose monitoring (RT-CGM) over 12 months in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes.

Methods: A French multicenter trial (NCT00949221) with a randomized, controlled, prospective, open, and parallel-group design was conducted. After 3 months of RT-CGM, patients were allocated to one of three groups: return to self-monitoring of blood glucose, continuous CGM (80% of the time), or discontinuous CGM (40% of the time).

Feasibility, Safety, and Efficacy of Pressurized Intraperitoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy (PIPAC) for Peritoneal Metastasis: A Registry Study.

Background: In this report, we describe a case of a patient with substance-induced anxiety disorder occurring after a single dose of 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine. Furthermore, we describe the use and efficacy of the Primary Care Behavioral Health model, a collaborative approach to integrative primary mental health care, in evaluating and treating this rare mental health disorder.

Case Presentation: Three days following ingestion of one dose of 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, a 35-year-old Hispanic man with no significant prior mental health history and no history of prior 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine use presented to our hospital with severe, acute anxiety and panic symptoms.

Treatment of carcinoma in situ of the urinary bladder with an alpha-emitter immunoconjugate targeting the epidermal growth factor receptor: a pilot study.

We present a passively mode-locked Yb:CALGO oscillator with harmonic repetition rate operation up to the third order. It is operated in the solitary regime with a fundamental roundtrip rate of 94 MHz and pulse durations between 200 fs and 600 fs. Harmonic operation was observed being stable for several days.

Human papilloma virus is not detectable in samples of urothelial bladder cancer in a central European population: a prospective translational study.

Background: Previous investigations on the association of human papillomavirus (HPV) and human bladder cancer have led to conflicting results. The aim of this study was to determine if low and high risk HPV play a role in the etiology of superficial low grade and invasive high grade urothelial carcinoma of the bladder.

Methods: We prospectively collected tumor samples of urothelial carcinoma of the bladder from 109 patients treated with transurethral resection or cystectomy, with bladder tissue from transurethral resection of the prostate serving as control.

Background And Method: Prevalence of urolithiasis is increasing in industrialized countries--in both adults and children, representing a unique diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. Risk-adapted diagnostic imaging currently means assessment with maximized sensitivity and specificity together with minimal radiation exposure. In clinical routine, imaging is performed by sonography, unenhanced computed tomography (NCCT) or intravenous urography (IVU) as well as plain kidney-ureter-bladder (KUB) radiographs.

Renin-expressing cells in the kidney normally appear as mural cells of developing preglomerular vessels and finally impose as granulated juxtaglomerular cells in adult kidneys. The differentiation of renin-expressing cells from the metanephric mesenchyme in general and the potential role of special precursor stages in particular is not well understood. Therefore, it was the aim of this study to search for renin cell precursors in the kidney.

Loss-of-function mutations in SOX10 cause Kallmann syndrome with deafness.

Transcription factor SOX10 plays a role in the maintenance of progenitor cell multipotency, lineage specification, and cell differentiation and is a major actor in the development of the neural crest. It has been implicated in Waardenburg syndrome (WS), a rare disorder characterized by the association between pigmentation abnormalities and deafness, but SOX10 mutations cause a variable phenotype that spreads over the initial limits of the syndrome definition. On the basis of recent findings of olfactory-bulb agenesis in WS individuals, we suspected SOX10 was also involved in Kallmann syndrome (KS).

Phenotypical, biological, and molecular heterogeneity of 5α-reductase deficiency: an extensive international experience of 55 patients.

Context: In 46,XY disorders of sex development, 5α-reductase deficiency is rare and is not usually the first-intention diagnosis in newborn ambiguous genitalia, contrary to partial androgen insensitivity syndrome.
