Statement Of Problem: The color stability of tooth-colored restorative materials for provisional restorations is of primary importance when provisional prostheses are worn long term. However, the effect of different polishing methods on the color difference of provisional restorative (PR) materials has not been completely clarified.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different polishing methods on color stability of 2- and 3-component autopolymerized bis-acrylic composites, a light polymerized composite, and a methyl methacrylate-based PR material upon exposure to a staining agent.

A case report of an uncommon neuropathy: posterior femoral cutaneous neuropathy.

Isolated posterior femoral cutaneous neuropathy is rarely encountered. Electrophysiological documentation has only been made in a few cases. We present a 73 year-old male patient who underwent a coronary angiography procedure which was performed on his right femoral artery 2 months prior of referring to our electromyography (EMG) laboratory.

The influence of sociodemographic characteristics on health care utilisation in a Swedish municipality.

During recent years there has been a debate on factors that might influence health care utilisation, and the possibilities to predict such utilisation in order to facilitate the allocation of health care resources in the community. Currently only the age distribution in the population is usually used for such predictions. In this study the influence of a number of other sociodemographic characteristics on health care utilisation, in addition to age and sex, was assess in a small Swedish community.

First Report of Septoria Blight of Parsley Caused by Septoria petroselini in the Mediterranean Region of Turkey.

During December 2001 to March 2002, Septoria blight of parsley was observed in approximately 500 ha of commercial parsley crops in Arsuz County, Hatay, in the Mediterranean Region of Turkey. Incidence of disease ranged from 42 to 80%. Symptoms included irregularly shaped, grayish brown spots (average 3 to 8 mm diameter) with a slightly darker brown margin of necrotic tissue that developed into tan-to-brown lesions surrounded by chlorotic halo on the leaves.

The influence of perceived well-being and reported symptoms on health care utilization: a population-based study.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of reported well-being and symptoms on the utilization of health care, including alternative medicine. A random, age-stratified sample was drawn from the general population of Håbo, a municipality in mid-Sweden. Of the 1312 subjects sampled, 827 responded to a postal questionnaire, providing information on health care utilization during the previous year, on a number of well-being variables and on perceived symptoms during the past 3 months.

Interlaboratory studies to determine optimal analytical methods for measuring the oxidation index of UHMWPE.

Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy has emerged as the technique of choice for the quantification of oxidation in ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene used in orthopedic implants. We initiated interlaboratory studies to determine the method of normalization, hence quantification, that provided the highest level of reproducibility across multiple institutions. The goal of this research was to identify optimal normalization methods that minimize the experimental uncertainties associated with interlaboratory reproducibility and intralaboratory repeatability of oxidation index measurements.
