Background And Aims: Insulin resistance is considered the most important key mechanism in the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Some studies have reported that hyperinsulinemia decreases the hepatic secretion of apolipoprotein (Apo) B. Chronic hyperinsulinemia in NAFLD may be responsible for the accumulation of triglycerides in hepatocytes.

Background: The aim of this study was to compare the complete blood cell count parameters of patients with methamphetamine and synthetic cannabis use disorder (MCUD), a condition that has recently exhibited a gradual increase in prevalence, with those of healthy subjects.
Methods: In total, 76 patients diagnosed with MCUD and 78 healthy controls were included in the study. Venous blood samples were collected from all participants at presentation for laboratory examination.
Objective: Technology addiction is an increasingly important public health problem all over the world that negatively affects people's mental and physical health. In this study, we examined technology addiction and social connectedness levels of psychiatric patients who admitted to clinics in different geographical regions of Turkey.
Methods: A total of 642 people with a diagnosis of psychiatric illness who applied to psychiatry clinics in İstanbul, Elaziğ, Malatya, Yozgat, Adıyaman, and Bingöl provinces were included.
: Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are stress proteins. The endogenous nitric oxide (NO) synthase inhibitor asymmetric dimethyl arginine (ADMA) is a mediator of endothelial dysfunction. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus causes endothelial dysfunction and coagulopathy through severe inflammation and oxidative stress.

Methods: The study intended to include all family physicians in the Adıyaman province of Turkey, but ultimately 150 out of 210 physicians participated and was completed with a percentage response rate of 71%. Participants were asked about their approach to cardiac murmurs, answered knowledge questions, and completed a questionnaire on demographic characteristics.
Background: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and severity of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and analyze the relationship between PTSD and breastfeeding attitudes and behaviors among breastfeeding mothers and women with children aged 0-24 months, all of whom had experienced the earthquake.
Methods: In this cross-sectional survey, a face-to-face questionnaire was administered to 173 earthquake survivors in Adıyaman, Turkey, during June and July 2023. The PTSD Checklist-Civilian scale was used to assess the presence of PTSD, while the Breastfeeding Attitudes of the Evaluation Scale (BAES) was employed to evaluate breastfeeding behaviors in mothers.
Objectives: Malassezia species are common, clinically relevant, and lipid-dependent yeasts of humans. They are also the leading causes of the dandruff problem of humans, and the azoles are used primarily in their topical and systemic treatment. Resistance to azoles is an emerging problem among Malassezia sp.

Methods: Forty patients who come to the Otorhinolaryngology outpatient clinic due to nasal obstruction and are given an appointment for partial turbinate reduction operation due to inferior turbinate hypertrophy, according to their smoking status, were divided into two groups: those who had smoked one pack/day for at least 10 years and those who had never smoked.

Objective: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic disease characterized by relapses and remissions, causing physical disability and affecting individuals psychosocially. In this study, we aimed to assess anxiety and depression levels, sleep, and quality of life in MS patients.
Patients And Methods: The study included 66 participants, 30 healthy controls, and 36 patients diagnosed with MS.
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of video modeling to teach safety skills during earthquakes and postearthquake evacuation to children with autism. Three male children with autism, aged 9-10 years, participated in the study. The results indicate that video modeling was effective at promoting the acquisition of "drop, cover, and hold on" and evacuation skills for all three students.

However, the reasons behind this correlation that could affect mortality and morbidity were not fully identified. The present study aimed to analyze arterial stiffness diagnosed with ultrasonography, which could be associated with cardiovascular disease risks in depression patients, and to compare the findings with those of healthy controls.

Neuroimaging demonstrated that certain regions of the brain could be associated with this disorder, and in the present study, we aimed to investigate the changes in retina, which could be considered an extension of the brain in antisocial personality disorder patients with optical coherence tomography.
Methods: The study was conducted with 35 patients and 35 healthy controls.
Cancer is a devastating disease that has significant psychological and biological impacts. Generally, lung cancer primarily affects men while breast cancer primarily affects women. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the levels of anxiety and depression in patients with these prevalent cancer types, as well as their perceptions of the illness and any potential connections between them.

Neutrophil, lymphocyte, monocyte, and platelet counts; high-density lipoprotein (HDL-c) levels; systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII), systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI), neutrophil to high-density lipoprotein ratio (NHR), lymphocyte to high-density lipoprotein ratio (LHR), monocyte to high-density lipoprotein ratio (MHR), platelet to high-density lipoprotein ratio (PHR) were measured.

Methods: A total of 46 chronic hepatitis patients with an age range of 20-50 years were classified into three groups based on their fibrosis stages. Comparison group 1: the presence of fibrosis (S0 and S1≤); comparison group 2: the presence of significant fibrosis (≤S2 and S3≤); and comparison group 3: the presence of cirrhosis (≤S4 and S6).
Background: We aimed to investigate the effect of poisoning on mortality leading to new morbidities in people who survived the poisoning.
Methods: The descriptive-retrospective study evaluated all carbon monoxide poisoning cases between 2012 and 2022 in the Adiyaman. For the fatality, all cases were followed up through Turkey's death notification system until the end of 2022.
Epigenetic modifications, particularly DNA methylation, have emerged as regulators of gene expression and are implicated in various biological processes and disease states. Understanding the factors influencing the epigenome is essential for unraveling its complexity. In this study, we aimed to identify how the methylome of buccal epithelial cells, a noninvasive and easily accessible tissue, is associated with demographic and health-related variables commonly used in clinical settings, such as age, sex, blood immune composition, hemoglobin levels, and others.
