The Micius satellite is the pioneering initiative to demonstrate quantum teleportation, entanglement distribution, quantum key distribution (QKD), and quantum-secured communications experiments at the global scale. In this work, we report on the results of the 600-mm-aperture ground station design which has enabled the establishment of a quantum-secured link between the Zvenigorod and Nanshan ground stations using the Micius satellite. As a result of a quantum communications session, an overall sifted key of 2.

A semi-empirical quantum key distribution model for satellite-based systems was proposed that simplifies simulations of communication links. Unlike other theoretical models, our approach was based on the experimentally-determined atmospheric extinction coefficient typical for mid-latitude ground stations.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFQuantum key distribution (QKD) networks provide an infrastructure for establishing information-theoretic secure keys between legitimate parties via quantum and authentic classical channels. The deployment of QKD networks in real-world conditions faces several challenges, which are related in particular to the high costs of QKD devices and the condition to provide reasonable secret key rates. In this work, we present a QKD network architecture that provides a significant reduction in the cost of deploying QKD networks by using optical switches and reducing the number of QKD receiver devices, which use single-photon detectors.

The course of the real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is determined by the temperature dependence of the kinetics of the component reactions, particularly the DNA strand hybridization. To investigate the effect of thermal processes on the reaction behavior, a mathematical model in which the variable rate constant of dissociation of "primer-single strand" complexes depends on temperature was proposed. The reaction medium temperature, which depends on time, was also introduced into the model.

Earlier, an approximate solution of the simplest system of kinetic enzymatic equations for calculating dynamics of complementary strands of nucleic acids was obtained. In this study, we consider an alternative approach to selecting the basic linear approximation of the used method, which makes it possible to obtain more accurate analytical solutions of the set problem.

This paper considers the application of the homotopy perturbation method for obtaining approximate analytical solution of the simplest system of enzymatic kinetic equations describing the synthesis of nucleic acid molecules during PCR. The resulting approximate analytic solution with high accuracy reproduces the results of a numerical solution of the system in a wide range of ratios of enzyme and substrate concentrations both for the case of a large excess of the substrate over the enzyme and vice versa.

Despite low invasiveness, lacrimal passages, intubation in children requires general anaesthesia to prevent traumatic and neurological complications. General anaesthesia with sevoflurane is optimal for technical simplicity, safety and controllability. Methods of face mask inhalation anesthesia with halothan and sevoflurane were compared in 996 patients.

This makes it possible to employ small-sized beads which are trapped in a low-pressure column due to ultrasound-assisted retention, without any frits to hold the sorption material. A flow system including a separation mini-column, named herein a suspension column, has been developed and tested by the studies of solid phase extraction (SPE) of trace metals from bi-distilled water and sea water using a 150-μL column with a silica-based sorbent containing iminodiacetic groups (DIAPAK IDA) and having a grain size of 6 μm.

Three methods of ozone therapy (intravenous injection of ozonized physiologic saline, oral intake of ozonized low-mineral water and combination of the two treatments) were compared by efficacy in 215 patients with gastroduodenal pathology associated with Helicobacter pilori. All the techniques of ozone therapy proved effective in relation to regress of clinical symptoms, regeneration processes, eradication of Helicobacter pylori, but the combined regimen was the best.

It includes non-dimensional parameters characterizing the following features: concentration of substrate, concentration of metabolic products--growth inhibitor, mycelium and spores, radial and specific rate of mycelium growth, rate of substrate consumption and production of metabolic products, coefficients of diffusion of substrate and metabolic products, initial concentration of mycelium and substrate, time of delay of mycelium reaction on metabolic products and spore formation, threshold concentration of metabolic products.
