Klüver-Bucy Syndrome Following Traumatic Brain Injury: A Systematic Synthesis and Review of Pharmacological Treatment From Cases in Adolescents and Adults.

Klüver-Bucy syndrome (KBS) is a rare clinical presentation following traumatic brain injury (TBI). Symptoms include visual agnosia, placidity, hyperorality, sexual hyperactivity, changes in dietary behavior, and hypermetamorphosis. The purpose of this article was to identify and synthesize the available evidence from case reports and case series on the treatment profile of KBS among adolescents and adults after TBI.

Modified Whale's tail technique for the management of bone-defect in anterior teeth.

The purpose of this case report is to describe the efficacy of a modified Whale's tail technique to achieve primary closure and thereby aid in regeneration of an interdental osseous defect between maxillary central incisors complicated by an aberrant frenal attachment. A healthy 32-year-old female patient reported with the complaint of spacing between her upper front teeth. Clinical examination revealed an aberrant frenum extending into the interdental papilla in relation to the central incisors.

Rate and Risk of All Cause Mortality among People with Known Hypertension in a Rural Community of Southern Kerala, India: The Results from the Prolife Cohort.

Background: Hypertension is one of the most important determinants of death due to vascular damage and is fast emerging as a high burden disease in India. However, its documentation is poor in the country. Background & Objectives: The district of Thiruvananthapuram reports the maximum number of cases of dengue in the state of Kerala. To determine the larval diversity, density and breeding site preferences of Aedes mosquitoes, during pre-monsoon and monsoon periods in urban and rural areas of Thiruvananthapuram district.

Methods: Based on the daily reports of dengue cases, 70 clusters were identified in Thiruvananthapuram district.

Context: Gender differences in the risk of developing non-communicable diseases (NCD) are a matter of debate. The susceptibility of a woman to NCD should be evaluated taking into consideration the social factors that limit the physical activity among women. It will be interesting to note what will happen if women are allowed to take part in physical exercise to the extent of men.

Predictors of depression among patients with diabetes mellitus in Southern India.

Objective: Diabetes mellitus and depression are major public health problems and are significantly linked with each other. This research study intends to assess for undiagnosed depression and its predictors among adult diabetic patients.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was done among 100 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus attending the diabetic clinic of a tertiary care hospital.
