Left Ventricular Myxoma with Embolization Causes Acute Infrarenal Aortic Occlusion.

Atrial myxoma is the most common benign tumor of the heart; moreover, atrial myxoma embolization to the peripheral vessels is rare. We present an unusual case of total acute infrarenal aortic occlusion resulting from embolic implantation from a left ventricular myxoma. A 37-year-old man with acute lower limbs ischemia, spinal cord ischemia, and acute renal insufficiency was urgently operated and discharged after surgery.

[Psychopathologic peculiarities in patients with diabetes mellitus and non-proliferative retinopathy].

The aim of the present work was to study clinical course of depression in patients (pts) with diabetes mellitus (DM) and non-proliferative retinopathy (NPR). In total, 250 pts with DM were included into the study, and more separated into 2 groups (Gr): Gr.1 (n=115)--pts with DMT1 and DMT2 without NPR; mean ABP - SBP < or = 130 mmHg/DBP < or = 85 mmHg.

[A micro-computer program for statistical analysis of data from twin studies].

A program of statistical processing of data obtained while examining twins is described. Transformed algorithms, directions for programme use and a control model are presented.

The investigation has been performed in mono- and dizygotic twins of the Ukrainian ethnic and territorial groups. As a whole 196 pairs of twins, among them 80 pairs of mono- and 116 pairs of dizygotes of both sex at the age of 12-60 years have been undergone the examination. The twins selected are divided into two age groups--period of sex maturation (12-17 years of age) and that of maturity (30-60 years of age).
