Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the impact of an iterative metal artifact reduction (iMAR) algorithm combined with virtual monoenergetic images (VMIs) for artifact reduction in photon-counting detector computed tomography (PCDCT) during interventions.
Materials And Methods: Using an abdominal phantom, we conducted evaluations on the efficacy of iMAR and VMIs for mitigating image artifacts during interventions on a PCDCT. Four different puncture devices were employed under 2 scan modes (QuantumSn at 100 kV, Quantumplus at 140 kV) to simulate various clinical scenarios.
Background: Previous studies in mouse, and zebrafish embryos show strong expression in progenitor cells of neuronal and neural crest tissues suggesting its involvement in neural crest specification. However, the role of human transcription factor activator protein 2 ( in human embryonic central nervous system (CNS), orofacial and maxillofacial development is unknown.
Methods: Through a collaborative work, exome survey was performed in families with congenital CNS, orofacial and maxillofacial anomalies.
Objectives: Artificial intelligence (AI) is thought to improve lesion detection. However, a lack of knowledge about human performance prevents a comparative evaluation of AI and an accurate assessment of its impact on clinical decision-making. The objective of this work is to quantitatively evaluate the ability of humans to detect focal cortical dysplasia (FCD), compare it to state-of-the-art AI, and determine how it may aid diagnostics.

In this study, we attempted to find a connection between proinflammatory cytokines (IL-6, IL-17, IL-23, IL-36, TNF-α), a skin inflammation inducing agent - imiquimod (IMQ) and GLUT1 expression.
Methods: Human keratinocyte HaCaT cell line was incubated with exogenous cytokines: IL-6, IL-17A, IL-23, IL-36, TNF-α at a final concentration of 100 ng/ml, or with 1 µM of IMQ, for 48 h.

Uterine artery pseudoaneurysm (UAP) is a rare and potentially life-threatening vascular anomaly caused by inadequate sealing of a ruptured wall of a uterine artery. It mainly occurs after a traumatic lesion and can lead to delayed postpartum hemorrhage. We report a rare case of UAP after an uncomplicated vaginal delivery in a patient with a history of deep-infiltrating endometriosis.

Background: The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is composed of cannabinoid receptors type 1 (CBR1) and type 2 (CBR2), cannabinoid-based ligands (endogenous chemically synthesized phytocannabinoids), and endogenous enzymes controlling their concentrations. Cannabinoid receptors (CBRs) have been identified in invertebrates and in almost all vertebrate species in the central and peripheral nervous system as well as in immune cells, where they control neuroimmune homeostasis. In humans, rodents, dogs, and cats, CBRs expression has been confirmed in the skin, and their expression and tissue distribution become disordered in pathological conditions.

Purpose: To evaluate technical feasibility and safety of common endovascular visceral interventions using a vascular robotic platform through preclinical study.
Material And Methods: The CorPath GRX Robotic System (Corindus Inc, Waltham, Massachusetts) was tested in an anesthetized pig for its ability to navigate various commercially available devices in the abdominal vasculature and to perform routine endovascular visceral procedures. After manually placing a guiding catheter in the celiac trunk, several visceral branches were probed with microcatheters and -wires under robotic assistance, and embolization with liquids (lipiodol), detachable coils and plugs were performed.
We aimed to investigate the diagnostic utility of MRI extracellular volume fraction (ECV) for the assessment of liver cirrhosis severity as defined by Child-Pugh class. In this retrospective study, 90 patients (68 cirrhotic patients and 22 controls), who underwent multiparametric liver MRI, were identified. Hepatic T1 relaxation times and ECV were assessed.
