Background: Multidrug resistance (MDR) is the main reason of the failure of chemotherapy in lung cancer. The MDR mechanism in lung cancer is complex, which relates to sorts of drug resistant genes. ABCC10 is a recently identified member of a subset of the C family of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters.

Objective: Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has been recently applied as an alternative option of pulmonary surgery in the treatment of pulmonary malignancies. In this study, we assessed the risk associated with percutaneous RFA, and discussed its safety and efficacy.

Methods: The clinical data of 329 consecutive patients with primary (n = 237) and metastatic (n = 92) lung tumor treated with RFA from 1999 to 2006 in this hospital were considered for this study, and the character and clinical data of these patients were analyzed.

Endogenous direct-current electric fields (dcEFs) occur in vivo in the form of epithelial transcellular potentials or neuronal field potentials. A variety of cells respond to dcEFs by migrating directionally, and this is termed galvanotaxis. The mechanism by which dcEFs direct cell movement, however, is not yet understood, and the effects on lung cancer cells are entirely unknown.

Background: The effect of direct-current electric fields (dcEFs) on cells attracted extensive attention. Moreover the metastasis and its potential are considered to be related to dcEFs. The aim is to study the effect of dcEFs on migration behavior of A549 cells, Integrin beta1 and its signal pathways.

Background: Elevated expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) has been found to be a feature of tumors recently. In this study, the expression and significance of COX-2 and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) were explored in the cancer tissues of patients with lung cancer.

Methods: Expression of COX-2 and VEGF in cancer tissues of 126 lung cancer patients were detected by tissue chip and immunohistochemical methods.
