Background: Guidelines recommend the identification of potential mental and/or cognitive disorders (MCD) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). However, compliance with these guidelines appears to be lacking in primary care. A minimal invasive intervention was tailored with experts for the primary care setting to increase the identification of this patient group and ensure proper treatment.

Materials/methods: The total sample of 80 aligners included five brands (Accusmile®, Angel®, GRAPHY®, Invisalign® and Suresmile®) were placed in a thermocycler to imitate the temperature variations of the oral cavity and accelerate aging for 50, 250, 350, 500, and 700 cycles. The mechanical tensile properties (Young's modulus E, yield strength YS, maximum elastic stress MES, Ultimate Tensile Strength UTS, and maximum stress MS) were measured by Universal Testing Machine at a rate of 5 mm of deformation per minute for 4 minutes.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, many countries applied centralization strategies to the distribution of power between national government and regional/local governments over responsibility for regulatory tasks. As a result, health-policy decision-making competences were shifted from the regional level to the national level (vertical shift of decision-making competences). This centralization trend for the purpose of infection control is evident in Germany.

In this retrospective study, we analyzed patients treated by SRT for a single BM during their first SRT session and we compared two subgroups: "Cohort 1" with patients did not undergo cerebral re-irradiation and "Cohort 2" with patients received at least one subsequent SRT session for cerebral recurrence.
Methods: We included patients who received SRT for a single BM between January 2010 and June 2020.
Background: This study was conducted to estimate the additional objective and perceived workload of nurses resulting from the use of webcams. The successful implementation of webcam technology into routine care requires an analysis to prevent adverse events of increased nursing workload.
Methods: The study took place on three neonatal wards in two University Hospitals in Germany.
Background And Purpose: Stereotactic radiation therapy (SRT) is commonly used to treat brain metastases (BMs). This retrospective study compared two SRT techniques, dynamic conformal arc therapy (DCAT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), for single BM treatments.
Material And Methods: Data of patients treated between January 2010 and June 2020 were considered.
Background: The main advantages of stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) are to delay whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT) and to deliver ablative doses. Despite this efficacy, the risk of distant brain metastases (BM) one year after SRT ranges from 26% to 77% and 20 to 40% of patients required salvage treatment. The role and consequences of reirradiation remain unclear, particularly in terms of survival.

This review aims to identify the dosimetric factors of each technique to determine whether one should be preferred over another for single BMs treatment. A systematic literature review on articles published between January 2015 and January 2022 was conducted using the MEDLINE and ScienceDirect databases, following the PRISMA methodology, using the keywords "dosimetric comparison" and "brain metastases".

Medical guidelines recommend the appropriate management of comorbid MCD in patients with CHD, yet there is evidence that the implementation in primary care is not always adequate. We present the protocol for a pilot study that aims to develop a minimally invasive intervention and evaluate its feasibility in the primary care setting to improve the identification and management of comorbid MCD in patients with CHD.

As a result of this experience, the team developed expertise in understanding Deaf Culture, the effects of hearing loss on psychological development and evaluation and treatment techniques for this population. Based on the team's experiences, we discuss best practices to ensure that deaf defendants have the same access as hearing persons to fair treatment by the legal system and to the education and treatment required for restoration.

WHO, Karnofsky performance status (KPS), age, number of BMs, extracerebral progression (ECP), recursive partitioning analysis (RPA), diagnosis-specific graded prognostic assessment (Ds-GPA) are validated prognostic tools to help clinicians decide on treatment. No consensus exists for repeat stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) for BMs.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Stereotactic radiation therapy (SRT) is a focal treatment for brain metastases (BMs); thus, 20 to 40% of patients will require salvage treatment after an initial SRT session, either because of local or distant failure. SRT is not exempt from acute toxicity, and the acute toxicities of repeated SRT are not well known. The objective of this study was to analyze the acute toxicities of repeated courses of SRT and to determine whether repeated SRT could lead to cumulative brain doses equivalent to those of whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT).

This study was part of the Safety4NICU project, a cross-sectional survey conducted from 2015 to 2016. All 224 German NICUs were invited to participate, providing written consent from the head neonatologist and head nurse.

However, there is no empirical evidence pertaining to this mechanism. We conduct an empirical study in a German setting and argue that physician leadership mediates the relationship between ownership and operational strategies.

Stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) is part of the therapeutic arsenal for the treatment of de novo or recurrent BM. Its main interest is to delay whole brain radiation therapy (WBRT), which may cause cognitive toxicity.

The purpose of this study was to analyze cerebral progression-free survival (C-PFS) and LR of BM among patients treated with repeated courses of radiotherapy in stereotactic conditions.
Methods And Materials: We retrospectively reviewed data from 184 patients treated for 915 BMs with at least two courses of SRT without previous WBRT.
Objectives: The healthcare system is characterised by a high degree of complexity and involves various actors at different institutional levels and in different care contexts. To implement patient-centred care (PCC) successfully, a multidimensional consideration of influencing factors is required. Our qualitative study aims to identify system-level determinants of PCC implementation from the perspective of different health and social care organisations (HSCOs).

Introduction: The Last Year of Life Study-Cologne Part I (LYOL-C I) has identified general hospital units as the most important checkpoints for transitions in the last year of life of patients. Yet, satisfaction with hospitals, as reported by bereaved relatives, is the lowest of all health service providers. Thus, the LYOL-C Part II (LYOL-C II) focuses on optimising patient-centred care in acute hospitals for patients identified to be in their last year of life.

By applying resource-dependency-theory (RDT), we explore how healthcare organizations in different settings perceive pressure arising from uncertain access to resources and examine organizational strategies they deploy to secure resources.
Design/methodology/approach: A cross-sectional survey of key decision-makers in different healthcare settings in the metropolitan area of Cologne, Germany, on perceptions of pressure arising from the environment and respective strategies was conducted.
Background: The separation of parents and their prematurely born children during care in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) can have far-reaching consequences for the well-being of the parents and also of the children. The aim of this study is to evaluate the use of webcams on NICUs and to conduct a systematic assessment of their possible effects on parents and clinical staff. In addition, it aims at determining the need for webcams in German NICUs and to identify possible barriers and moderators.

To communicate successfully in a team, health professionals need to strive for the same goals. However, it has been left largely unaddressed which goals professionals consider to be important.

The repetition of radiotherapy sessions under stereotactic conditions is not codified, neither on the number of technically and clinically possible sessions, nor on the maximum total number or volume of metastases to be treated. The purpose of this review is to analyse the data in the literature concerning repeated irradiations under stereotactic conditions.
