is one of the camellia plants distributed in tropical regions, and its regeneration system and genetic transformation are affected by callus browning. However, the underlying mechanism of callus browning formation remains largely unknown. To investigate the metabolic basis and molecular mechanism of the callus browning of , histological staining, high-throughput metabolomics, and transcriptomic assays were performed on calli with different browning degrees (T1, T2, and T3).

orchids, with their unique appearance and extended flowering period, are among the most commercially valuable Orchidaceae worldwide. Particularly, the variegation in leaf color of significantly enhances the ornamental and economic value and knowledge of the molecular mechanism of leaf-color variegation in is lacking. In this study, an integrative analysis of the physiology, cytology, and transcriptome profiles was performed on Chia E Yenlin Variegata leaves between the green region (GR) and yellow region (YR) within the same leaf.

A tunnel shading shed is crucial in improving driving safety as a type of traffic facility to ease the transition of light environments. To study the effect of installation of a shading shed on the visual characteristics of drivers in the connecting zone of the adjacent tunnels, a total of 32 drivers were gathered to perform a real vehicle experiment. The study zone of the adjacent tunnels was divided into three sections: upstream tunnel exit; connecting zone; and downstream tunnel threshold zone.

Although some serious games have been developed for physical therapy, little work has been conducted through a participatory design approach. Therefore, a game prototype was developed, which involved related stakeholders in the design process. The iterative participatory design process was adopted with the input of 18 patients with frozen shoulder symptoms, 4 health professionals, 2 game designers, and 5 researchers in an iterative process to design, test, and evaluate the game prototype.

MeFtsZ2-1 is a key gene for plant plastid division, but the mechanism by which MeFtsZ2-1 affects pigment accumulation in cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) through plastids remains unclear. We found that MeFtsZ2-1 overexpression in cassava (OE) exhibited darker colors of leaves, with increased levels of anthocyanins and carotenoids. Further observation via Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) revealed no apparent defects in chloroplast structure but an increase in the number of plastoglobule in OE leaves.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study focuses on the Coelogyninae subtribe of orchids, which is known for its diversity and economic value, revealing unresolved relationships among its genera despite prior research confirming it as a monophyletic group.
  • - Researchers sequenced and analyzed the complete chloroplast genomes of 15 Coelogyninae species, identifying shared structures and specific gene variations, particularly in the boundary regions, while highlighting differences in repeat types among them.
  • - Findings established a clear phylogenetic framework for Coelogyninae based on genome data, identifying key mutation hotspots and genes that may have undergone positive selection, thus providing insight into their evolutionary history.

Santalum album is a well-known aromatic and medicinal plant that is highly valued for the essential oil (EO) extracted from its heartwood. In this study, we present a high-quality chromosome-level genome assembly of S. album after integrating PacBio Sequel, Illumina HiSeq paired-end and high-throughput chromosome conformation capture sequencing technologies.

Background: Cultivated Hippeastrum × hybridum is a popular ornamental plant with large and colorful flowers, long flowering duration, and high commercial value. As its main ornamental feature, its flower color is related to the anthocyanin content in the tepals. However, the molecular regulatory mechanisms of anthocyanin biosynthesis in H.

Orchid seeds lack endosperms and depend on mycorrhizal fungi for germination and nutrition acquisition under natural conditions. is a mycorrhizal fungus that promotes seed germination and seedling development in epiphytic orchids, such as . To understand the impact of on seed germination, we examined endogenous hormone levels by using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.

Ga-labeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (Ga-FAPI) PET/CT has demonstrated promising clinical results, with a higher SUV and tumor-to-background ratio (TBR) in breast cancer (BC) patients than F-FDG PET/CT. Here, we aimed to evaluate the suitability of Ga-FAPI PET/CT for the early and late prediction of the pathologic response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in BC. Twenty-two consecutive patients with newly diagnosed BC and an indication for NAC were prospectively included.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a severe comorbidity in chronic kidney disease (CKD) due to heavy calcification in the medial layer and inflamed plaques. Chronic inflammation, endothelial dysfunction and vascular calcification are major contributors that lead to artherosclerosis in CKD. The lack of specific symptoms and signs of CAD and decreased accuracy of noninvasive diagnostic tools result in delayed diagnosis leading to increased mortality.

Background: CD47 has high levels of expression in malignant cancer cells, which binds to SIRP- to release the "don't eat me" signal and prevents mononuclear macrophages from phagocytosing the cells. Resistance to drugs and metastases are potential barriers for prostate cancer endocrine therapy. Although immunotherapy for tumors has developed rapidly in the last few decades, its effectiveness in treating prostate cancer is unsatisfactory.

This study was to explore the regulatory effect of long non-coding RNA LINC01559 on Docetaxel resistance in breast carcinoma (BCa) and its underlying mechanism. In the present study, we found that LINC01559 expression was elevated and LINC01559 overexpression facilitated docetaxel resistance in BCa cells. Moreover, it was revealed that the upregulation of LINC01559 in BCa cells was induced by FTO-mediated demethylation in an m6A-YTHDF2-dependent manner.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of serum and CT factors to establish a convenient diagnostic method for differentiating small (≤ 4 cm) fat-poor angiomyolipoma (AML) from renal cell carcinoma (RCC).

Materials And Methods: This study analyzed the preoperative serum laboratory data and CT data of 32 fat-poor AML patients and 133 RCC patients. The CT attenuation value of tumor (AVT), relative enhancement ratio (RER), and heterogeneous degree of tumor were detected using region of interest on precontrast phase (PCP) and the corticomedullary phase.

The progress from intelligent interactions and supplemented/augmented reality requires artificial skins to shift from the single-functional tactile paradigm. Dual-responsive sensors that can both detect pre-contact proximal events and tactile pressure levels enrich the perception dimensions and deliver additional cognitive information. Previous dual-responsive sensors show very limited utilizations only in proximity perception or approaching switches.
