Introduction: There are emerging but inconsistent evidences about anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) as radio- or chemo-sensitizers to improve survival in glioblastoma patients. We conducted a nationwide population-based study to evaluate the impact of concurrent AED during post-operative chemo-radiotherapy on outcome.

Material And Methods: A total of 1057 glioblastoma patients were identified by National Health Insurance Research Database and Cancer Registry in 2008-2015.

Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of prophylactic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) on skin toxicities in patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma treated with first-line epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in a randomized-controlled trial (RCT).

Materials And Methods: This pilot study was a prospective, single-center, double-blinded RCT. The study enrolled patients with a new diagnosis of locally advanced and metastatic lung adenocarcinoma harboring mutations who were treated with first-line afatinib from July 1, 2016 to December 31, 2017.

AAA domain containing 3A (ATAD3A) is a nucleus-encoded mitochondrial protein with vital function in communication between endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and mitochondria which is participated in cancer metastasis. Here we show that elevated ATAD3A expression is clinically associated with poor 5-year disease-free survival in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC), especially high-risk CRC patients who received adjuvant chemotherapy. Our results indicated ATAD3A is significantly upregulated to reduce chemotherapy-induced cancer cell death.

Background: The progression of colorectal cancer (CRC) mainly stems from the occurrence of somatic mutation. However, there is little information that can be used to comprehensively analyse the importance of germline variants in CRC patients.

Patients And Methods: The candidate germline variants between tumor relapse and cured rectal adenocarcinoma (READ) were firstly filtered by whole-exome sequencing (n=4), and validated by targeted sequencing and associated with clinical outcome in READ (n=48).

Introduction/background: With improved BC screening and treatment, the risk for long-term toxicities of treatments must be considered, especially in good prognosis patients. In this study we examined the outcome, risks of second cancers, and cardiac mortality with RT for early-stage BC from recent years.

Materials And Methods: Analysis of the SEER database was conducted for women who had stage T1aN0 BC as their first primary malignancy between 1990 and 1997 and were treated with partial or complete mastectomy with or without external beam RT.
