Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) have become one of the best seed cells widely studied and concerned in tissue engineering because of their rich sources and excellent multi-directional differentiation ability, which are expected to play a practical application role in tissue defect, osteoporosis, plastic surgery, and other fields. However, the differentiation direction of ADSCs is regulated by complex factors. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are RNA molecules longer than 500 nucleotides that do not encode proteins and can act as signaling RNAs in response to intracellular and extracellular stimuli.

OSF is mainly caused by betel nut chewing behavior, but its pathogenesis is still unclear and there is no effective treatment strategy. The transformation of fibroblasts to myofibroblast is the key pathological change in the development of OSF.

This study evaluated the combined impact of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) inoculation and intercropping with Solanum nigrum on soil microbial diversity, enzyme activity, and environmental factors in soybean cultivation under high Cd stress. The combined treatment effectively reduced bioavailable Cd in soil, with the acid-soluble Cd fraction at 19.

Recent articles have shown that EBKT is associated with excellent long-term allograft performance and patient survival. Developmental differences exist between the two transplanted kidneys after EBKT, and it is crucial to assess split renal function.

Methods: A two-step, multivariable Mendelian Randomization (MR) analysis was performed, using statistics from genome-wide association studies (GWAS), to determine the effect of OA on BC and explore the role of major depressive disorder (MDD) in mediating it. Furthermore, transcriptomic analysis based on the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases were utilized to establish a prognostic model and explore the underlying mechanisms.

Objective: Assessing the accuracy of automated EasyNAT system for rapidly detecting paraffin-embedded tissue for the diagnosis of tuberculosis.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 134 patients, comprising 101 with confirmed tuberculosis and 33 without tuberculosis, treated at Beijing Chest Hospital, Capital Medical University, between 2018 and 2022.The clinical diagnostic results served as the standard for assessing the diagnostic performance of the EasyNAT system in comparison to quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) for tuberculosis detection in paraffin-embedded tissues.
Background: Pregnancy significantly alters the maternal immune system, affecting fetal development. The collection of tissues from the human placenta and fetus is not ethically or practically feasible at various gestational stages, thus limiting the study of gene expression in the fetus and placenta. Recent studies have shown that plasma cell-free DNA (cfDNA) nucleosome patterns can predict gene expression in the source tissue, offering insights into an individual's health status.

Schizophrenia, a severe mental illness characterized by cognitive impairment and olfactory dysfunction, remains an enigma with its pathological mechanism yet to be fully elucidated. The entorhinal cortex, a pivotal structure involved in numerous neural loop circuits related to olfaction, cognition, and emotion, has garnered significant attention due to its structural and functional abnormalities, which have been implicated in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia. This review focuses on the abnormal structural and functional changes in the entorhinal cortex in schizophrenia patients, as evidenced by neuroimaging, cellular biology, and genetic studies.

The mechanisms that drive the pathogenesis of CAVD remain to be fully elucidated. N6-methyladenosine (m6A), the most prevalent RNA epigenetic regulator, has recently been implicated in cardiovascular disease, but its role in CAVD has yet to be investigated.

Currently, medications such as levodopa preparations, offer only temporary symptomatic relief without preventing neuronal loss or halting disease progression. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), a particular type of wolfberry or goji berry, the fruit of Lycium barbarum L.

Globally, including in China, emerging medical biotechnology is developing rapidly. To understand the views and perspectives of Chinese scientists on dual-use concerns, this empirical study conducted semistructured qualitative interviews with researchers (n=14) from various specialties within the Chinese medical field, analysing their perspectives and ethical considerations regarding dual-use concerns.

Objectives: To examine whether market-level health system penetration is associated with: (1) switches in Medicare beneficiaries' usual source of primary care from federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) to health systems; and (2) FQHCs' overall Medicare patient and visit volume.
Research Design: Beneficiary-level discrete-time survival analysis and market-level linear regression analysis using Medicare fee-for-service claims data from 2013 to 2018.
Molecular property prediction with deep learning often employs self-supervised learning techniques to learn common knowledge through masked atom prediction. However, the common knowledge gained by masked atom prediction dramatically differs from the graph-level optimization objective of downstream tasks, which results in suboptimal problems. Particularly for properties with limited data, the failure to consider domain knowledge results in a direct search in an immense common space, rendering it infeasible to identify the global optimum.

Inspired by the ubiquitous biological wear-resistant structure, here we show ZIF-67 membranes with a tangential-normal interlaced structure (TN-ZIF-67) for one-step acquisition of polymer-grade propylene, which is endowed with the merits of intergranular defect elimination, partial ZIF-67 lattice flexibility restriction and anti-wear of the membrane surface. The TN-ZIF-67 membrane exhibits an optimal propylene/propane mixture separation factor of 221, and the separation performance remained unchanged after 1.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most common microvascular complications in diabetes. Accumulating evidence demonstrated that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) played critical regulatory roles in DR. However, the role of lncRNA HOX Transcript Antisense Intergenic RNA (HOTAIR) in the high glucose (HG)-induced human retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cell injury remains unclear.
