Cytoreductive surgery and intraoperative, intraperitoneal hyperthermic chemoperfusion (hyperthermic intraperitoneal intraoperative chemotherapy) are commonly used for the management of peritoneal surface metastases. We describe a case of acute embolic infarcts in bilateral cerebellar lobes, cerebral peduncles, thalamus and left parietal lobe cortex in a postmenopausal woman in her 50s diagnosed with bilateral ovarian mucinous adenocarcinoma with peritoneal metastasis under general anaesthesia.

In this work, we have synthesized a multichromophoric light-harvesting antenna, namely, triad, consisting of naphthalene monoimide (NMI) and perylene monoimide (PMI) chromophores. Triad was adsorbed onto polymeric graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN) to form triad/g-CN composite, utilized as a photocatalyst for oxidative amidation reaction. This composite photocatalyst demonstrated enhanced photocatalytic activity for the conversion of a variety of aldehydes to amides, leading up to 82 % product yield compared to only g-CN or only triad as photocatalysts.

The presence of precursor to exhausted (T) CD8 T cells is important to maintain robust immunity following treatment with immune checkpoint inhibition (ICI). Impressive responses to ICI are emerging in patients with stage II-III mismatch repair (MMR)-deficient (dMMR) colorectal cancer (CRC). Exploration of medicinal plants for bioactive-producing endophytic fungi is a relatively unmapped source of pharmaceutically important compounds. In this study, the endophytic fungus Curvularia lunata AREF029 isolated from the medicinal plant Cymbopogon citratus (known as lemongrass) was assessed for its biological activity. The methanolic extract of AREF029 had minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) ranging from 38 to 174 µg/ml against phytopathogenic fungi Alteranria solani, Fusarium oxysporum and Rhizoctonia solani.

Apple pomace (AP) is a byproduct of apple juice industries, which constitutes around 30% of the original fruit and rich in essential compounds like carbohydrates, phenolics, minerals, and dietary fibers. This study is focused on optimizing the combinational utilization of antibrowning agents like l-cysteine and l-ascorbic acid for the sustainable debrowning of AP with response surface methodology and assessment of its acute toxicity in female rats. Acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A) molecular rotors have drawn substantial attention for their applications in monitoring temperature variations within cellular microenvironments, biomimetic photocatalysis, and bioimaging. In this study, we have synthesized two novel rotor molecules, NBN1 and NBN2, by incorporating benzodithiophene (BDT) as the donor core and naphthalic anhydride/naphthalimide (NA/NI) moieties as acceptors using Pd-catalyzed Stille coupling reactions. Unlabelled: Rice, a critical cereal crop, grapples with productivity challenges due to its inherent sensitivity to low temperatures, primarily during the seedling and booting stages. Recognizing the polygenic complexity of cold stress signaling in rice, a meta-analysis was undertaken, focusing on 20 physiological traits integral to cold tolerance. This initiative allowed the consolidation of genetic data from 242 QTLs into 58 meta-QTLs, thereby significantly constricting the genetic and physical intervals, with 84% of meta-QTLs (MQTLs) being reduced to less than 2 Mb.
