Objective: To investigate the characteristics of particle generation and dispersion during dental procedure using digital inline holography (DIH) METHODS: Particles at two locations, near-field and far-field, which represent the field closer to the procedure location and within 0.5 m from the procedure location respectively, are studied using two different DIH systems. The effect of three parameters namely rotational speed, coolant flow rate, and bur angle on particle generation and dispersion are evaluated by using 10 different operating conditions.

As the primary goal of this study, we wanted to determine how pigment color production differed between clinical strains of P. aeruginosa, and whether or not that variation was associated with multidrug resistance or the ability to form biofilms.

Methods: Data of all pediatric patients in the age group of 6 months to 18 years with urinary tract infection were taken for analysis.
An isopiestic experimental facility for the measurement of vapor pressures has been designed, fabricated, and commissioned. Using the vapor pressure data as a function of temperature, useful thermodynamic properties of alloys and compounds of interest can be derived. The isopiestic facility comprises a pair of furnaces, temperature controllers, thermocouple movement mechanism, user interface, and data collection.

Upshaw-Schulman syndrome is a rare congenital form of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) characterized by single or recurrent episodes of thrombocytopenia, microangiopathic hemolyticanemia (MAHA), and widespread microvascular thrombosis, leading to the ischemic damage of multiple organs (mainly kidney, heart and brain). A 6-mo-old female infant, second born of a third-degree consanguineous marriage, with a history of severe neonatal jaundice with thrombocytopenia secondary to hemolysis requiring exchange transfusion on day 2 of life, presented with high-grade fever without focus of 2-d duration. Initial workup revealed microangiopathic hemolyticanemia with thrombocytopenia.

Digital image processing (DIP) technique precisely measures and quantifies the image and eliminates the subjectivity of manual interpretation. DIP is a non-destructive, inexpensive and rapid method that has been used by many researchers in various applications of biofuel.

Introduction: Regular dressing of traumatic wounds is of paramount importance for healing. Phenytoin, an anticonvulsant, is thought to promote wound healing through multiple mechanisms, including fibroblast proliferation, granulation tissue formation, antibacterial activity, and pain alleviation.
Aim: To assess the effect of topical phenytoin on traumatic wound healing in terms of granulation tissue formation, pain alleviation, and time taken for wound healing.
Background: The emergence of carbapenem-resistance in the gut flora of patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) poses a significant risk for infection with these types of pathogens.
Materials And Methods: New Delhi metallo-ß-lactamase 1 (NDM-1) in the gut flora of ICU patients was detected in cultures of a single rectal swab from each patient admitted to the ICU for a minimum period of 48 hrs. Samples were processed in the microbiology laboratory using blood agar and MacConkey agar.

Rabies is endemic in India and responsible for 20,000 human deaths every year. It is 100% preventable when the vaccine is taken along with proper wound care and rabies immunoglobulin administration though update continues regarding the requirement of the number of vaccine doses, the need for immunoglobulin, and if required their types. We study four cases of rabies having street dogs' bite category grade 3.

Materials And Methods: Sixty-five patients of age more than 18 years and radiologically confirmed cases of liver abscess were included in this study. Pus and blood samples were collected.
Introduction: Although several studies have shown an increasing prevalence of sepsis due to multidrug-resistant organisms, specific data on hospital-acquired septicemia is lacking.
Materials And Methods: An observational prospective study was carried out for a duration of 1 year in which patients developing hospital-acquired septicemia were included and their disease spectrum and associated risk factors were analyzed.
Results: Among a total of 350 patients, 145 came out to be culture positive.
Unlabelled: A 4-year-old boy was admitted with an acute onset fever for 4 days and drowsiness for 3 days, followed by progressive flaccid weakness of both lower limbs and encephalopathy soon after admission. He had sustained a WHO Class III stray dog bite 2 weeks previously and had received three doses of post-exposure rabies vaccination with purified vero cell vaccine but not rabies immunoglobulin. He was diagnosed with rabies based on the presence of rabies virus neutralising antibody in CSF (Day 1 1:128 and Day 26 1:2048) and typical findings on neuro-imaging.

In practice, root cause analyses done in the NHS may generally fail to identify components where there are organisational failures, as there may be an inherent desire to protect institutional reputation. A human factors approach to root cause analysis looks at system vulnerabilities, considering the entirety of the environment in which an individual works and taking into account factors such as the physical environment and individual mental characteristics.

Aim: Assess the long-term outcomes of PRP for patients with refractory LE.
Pectin was extracted from the waste custard apple peel using ultrasound technique and optimized the extraction process by RSM. The various significant process parameters such as liquid-solid ratio, ultra-sonication time, temperature and pH of solution were studied in the range of 10-25 mL g, 10-30 min, 50-80 °C, and 1-3, respectively. The maximum yield of pectin (8.

This work gives fundamental insights into the structural composition of an Fe-N-C catalyst and highlights the importance of an in-depth characterization. By nuclear- and electron-resonance techniques, we are able to show that even after mild pyrolysis and acid leaching, the catalyst contains considerable fractions of α-iron and, surprisingly, iron oxide.

Recommended preventive care is nonetheless underperformed. The aim of this pilot study was to demonstrate proof of concept that pre-consultation patient-directed reminders could improve preventive care in general practice.

Background: Infectious diarrhea causes a major health problem in developing countries with significant morbidity and mortality. Very often, rehydration therapy alone does not suffice, mandating the use of antimicrobial agents. However, rapidly decreasing antimicrobial susceptibility is complicating the matters.
