Modern insights of nanotheranostics in the glioblastoma: An updated review.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a highly malignant subtype of glioma, originating from the glial cells that provide support to other neurons in the brain. GBM predominantly impacts the cerebral hemisphere of the brain, with minimal effects on the cerebellum, brain stem, or spinal cord. Individuals diagnosed with GBM commonly encounter a range of symptoms, starting from auditory abnormalities to seizures.

The simultaneous quantification of Sitagliptin and Irbesartan in rat plasma using the validated LC-MS/MS method is applied to a pharmacokinetic study.

Irbesartan (IRB), an angiotensin II receptor AT1 blocker, is an antihypertensive agent commonly used with Sitagliptin (STG), a novel antidiabetic agent in diabetes. A finalised and validated LC-MS/MS method was used for the bioanalytical quantification of STG and IRB to be applicable to studies on the P.K drug-drug interactions between STG and IRB.

Validation of an LC-MS/MS method for quantitation of fostemsavir in plasma.

Background: A novel, sensitive and specific LC-MS/MS technique was developed and validated for the quantification of fostemsavir in human plasma and its pharmacokinetic application in rabbits.

Methods: Chromatographic separation of the fostemsavir and fosamprenavir (internal standard) were achieved on Zorbax C18 (50 mm × 2 mm × 5 μm) column with 0.80 mL/min flow rate and coupled with API6000 triple quadrupole MS in multi reaction monitoring mode by applying mass transitions m/z 584.

Cardioprotective Effect of Tangeretin by Inhibiting PTEN/AKT/mTOR Axis in Experimental Sepsis-Induced Myocardial Dysfunction.

Sepsis aggregates undesirable immune response causing depression of ventricular myocardium and diastolic dysfunction. This present study examined the effect of a plant-derived flavone tangeretin (TG) on autophagy and reduction in myocardial dysfunction. The sepsis was induced by cecum ligation and puncture (CLP) in male Sprague-Dawley rats.

Apigenin-Loaded Solid Lipid Nanoparticle Attenuates Diabetic Nephropathy Induced by Streptozotocin Nicotinamide Through Nrf2/HO-1/NF-kB Signalling Pathway.

Background: Apigenin is known to have a broad-spectrum efficacy in oxidative stress and conditions due to inflammation, although weak absorption, fast metabolic rate and a fast elimination (systemic) limit the pharmacological efficacy of this drug. Hence, we propose the usage of highly bioavailable Apigenin-solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNPs) to recognize such limitations. The defensive function of Apigenin-SLNPs on renal damage induced by streptozotocin (STZ) in animals was studied.

Effectiveness of flipped classroom with Poll Everywhere as a teaching-learning method for pharmacy students.

Objectives: Flipped classroom (FC) is a pedagogical model to engage students in learning process by replacing the didactic lectures. Using technology, lectures are moved out of the classroom and delivered online as means to provide interaction and collaboration. Poll Everywhere is an audience response system (ARS) which can be used in an FC to make the activities more interesting, engaging, and interactive.

Evaluation of self-reported medication adherence and its associated factors among epilepsy patients in Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

Introduction: Reports on medication adherence and its associated factors in patients with epilepsy in South East Asian countries are lacking. The primary purpose of this study was to assess the degree of medication adherence and its relationship with patient's satisfaction, psychosocial factors, quality of life and mental health in a sample of Malaysian epilepsy patients.

Methodology: It is a cross-sectional study and was carried out in the outpatient Neurology Department of Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (=272).

Protective effect of pioglitazone, a PPARγ agonist against acetaminophen-induced hepatotoxicity in rats.

Acetaminophen has a reasonable safety profile when consumed in therapeutic doses. However, it could induce hepatotoxicity and even acute liver failure when taken at an overdose. Pioglitazone, PPARγ ligand, is clinically tested and used in treatment of diabetes.
