Introduction: With the introduction of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR), thoracic endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (TEVAR), and frequent use of left ventricular assist devices in complicated percutaneous coronary interventions, the use of large bore arterial access has become a necessity. In the index study, we compared the percutaneous closure of large arteriotomies with open surgical (OS) closure.

Methods: It was a prospective study in which we compared the technical success and vascular complication rate associated with the use of a suture-based vascular closure device (VCD): Perclose ProGlide (PP) with that of OS closure.

Bispecific antibodies (BsAbs) are promising immunotherapies for cancer treatment designed to engage both tumour and immune cells. However, their use is associated with potential toxicities, including cytokine release syndrome (CRS), neurotoxicity, and on-target, off-tumour toxicity. CRS, characterized by cytokine release, is the most common, potentially life-threatening toxicity.

Background & Aims: Colorectal cancer (CRC) screening guidelines include screening colonoscopy and sequential high-sensitivity fecal occult blood testing (HSgFOBT), with expectation of similar effectiveness based on the assumption of similar high adherence. However, adherence to screening colonoscopy compared with sequential HSgFOBT has not been reported. In this randomized clinical trial, we assessed adherence and pathology findings for a single screening colonoscopy vs sequential and nonsequential HSgFOBTs.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is slowly but surely gaining a foothold in the hands of interventional cardiologists. Intraluminal and transmural contents of the coronary arteries are no longer elusive to the cardiologist's probing eye. Although the graduation of an interventionalist in imaging techniques right from naked eye angiographies to ultrasound-based coronary sonographies to the modern light-based OCT has been slow, with the increasing regularity of complex coronary cases in practice, such a transition is inevitable.

Introduction: The concept of selective neck dissection (SND) in locally advanced oral cancers is emerging. Contemporary studies support the feasibility of SND in selected node-positive oral cancers with early primaries. Nevertheless, the suitability of SND in clinically node-positive (cN+) oral cancers with advanced primaries (T3/T4) is unknown.

Magnesium ferrites (MgFeO) are important class of ferrites that have been receiving greater attention as promising excellent photocatalyst due to its low cost, wide light spectrum response and environment-friendly nature. However, its poor electronic conductivity and fast charge carrier recombination hinders its electrocatalytical applications. Hence, accelerating charge carriers separation efficiency is important to modify the photoelectrochemical performance of MgFeO.

Retinal oximetry is an important screening tool for early detection of retinal pathologies due to changes in the vasculature and also serves as a useful indicator of human-body-wide vascular abnormalities. We present an automatic technique for the measurement of oxygen saturation in retinal arterioles and venules using dual-wavelength retinal oximetry images. The technique is based on segmenting an optic-disc-centered ring-shaped region of interest and subsequent analysis of the oxygen saturation levels.

We present a novel and fully automated fundus image processing technique for glaucoma prescreening based on the rim-to-disc ratio (RDR). The technique accurately segments the optic disc and optic cup and then computes the RDR based on which it is possible to differentiate a normal fundus from a glaucomatous one. The technique performs a further categorization into normal, moderate, or severely glaucomatous classes following the disc-damage-likelihood scale (DDLS).
