A new phenanthridine-based multifunctional chemosensor (L), was synthesised via a green synthetic route and characterised using FT-IR, NMR and HRMS analysis. The sensing application of L towards metal ions in both solution and solid-state was studied using UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy, which exhibits dual-sensing behaviour for Th and Hg ions with good recyclability. In aqueous acetonitrile, L showed rapid response for the detection of environmental toxic metal ions and has a very low analytical detection limit of 125.

However, challenges such as significant background interference and limited resolution hinder their rapid advancement. Consequently, there is a pressing need to improve the detailed visualization of latent fingerprint (LFP) imaging, particularly for analyzing level 3 details.

Dehydrogenative condensation and dehydrogenation are the two processes that make up the overall reaction of this synthetic approach. In addition, the presence of BF caused a remarkable fluorescence shift in ARM.

Aggregation-induced emission (AIE) active 3-(3-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)-2-hydroxyphenyl)-2-(4'-(diphenylamino)-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl)acrylonitrile (BTPA) has been designed and synthesized herein, with the goal of detecting CN ions at a low-level in semi-aqueous medium. The deliberate addition of the electron-deficient alkene BTPA increased its sensitivity and selectivity to CN ions, with a better detection limit of 6.4 nM, unveiling the next-generation approach to creating sophisticated CN ions selective chemosensors.

Herein, an attempt was made to convert aluminium foil food container into aluminium oxyhydroxide (AlOOH) nanoparticles by a precipitation method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), spectroscopic and electron microscopic studies were employed to characterize impure AlOOH (containing sodium chloride, NaCl) and pure AlOOH samples.

On the other hand, cost effective production iron oxide (IO) nanomaterials is still needed to develop, owing to their wide applications. Herein, we proposed a simple direct calcination method to prepare porous IO (FeO and FeO) nanomaterials from waste toner powder.

Herein, for the fluorescence detection of CN, a new highly selective and sensitive sensor 2-(3-(benzo[]thiazol-2-yl)-4-hydroxybenzylidene)-1-indene-1,3(2)-dione (BID) was created by conjugating a benzothiazole moiety with 1-indene-1,3(2)-dione. The donor and acceptor components of this hybrid receptor were covalently connected through a double bond.

The absorbance of NDSM at 360 nm increased significantly in acetonitrile : water (7 : 3, v/v) medium only in the presence of Fe ions with a visible colour change from yellow to golden yellow. Likewise, fluorescence emission intensity at 531 nm was almost wholly quenched in the presence of Fe.

A new and highly sensitive and selective phenanthridine based sensor, 9-(7,8,13,14-tetrahydrodibenzo[a,i]phenanthridin-5-yl)benzo[h]quinolin-10-ol (PHBQ), was developed for the fluorescent ''turn-on'' detection of Th ion in acetonitrile: water (8:2) medium. The fluorescence intensity of PHBQ diminished in the region of pH 1 to 3 and could be recovered by adjusting the pH to above 4. The sensor PHBQ showed distinct spectral changes in response to Th ion over other competitive metal ions.

PFOM incorporating polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) solution was cast on a cellulose sheet to prepare a dual-layered membrane employing the phase-inversion technique for direct contact membrane distillation (DCMD) application. The influence of PFOM to tailor the dual-layered membrane performance was then investigated.

A substantial increase in emission intensity with increasing viscosity of the surrounding environment and smooth formation of a planar complex with boron and Zn ions concluded the presence of a TICT process.

Three distinct, hydrogen bond associated N-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl) acetamides were synthesized by refluxing benzothiazoles with acetic acid. The nature of the assemblies was characteristic to the substituent in the benzothiazole moiety. In N-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)acetamide, water acts as a bridge for forming three hydrogen bonds, as an acceptor to amide NH, and donors to carbonyl of amide and thiazole nitrogen assembles of three different N-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)acetamide molecules.
