Cu(II) complexes with 2,2':6',2″-terpyridines (terpy) and 2,6-bis(thiazol-2-yl)pyridines (dtpy) with 1- or 2-naphtyl and methoxy-naphtyl were synthesized to elucidate the impact of the triimine core, naphtyl linking mode, and presence of methoxy groups on the antiproliferative activity of [CuCl(L)]. Their antiproliferative effect was analyzed in ovarian (A2780) and colorectal (HCT116) carcinomas and colorectal carcinoma resistant to doxorubicin (HCT116-DoxR) cell lines and in normal human fibroblasts. Among all complexes, the 1- and 2-naphtyl substituted terpy Cu(II) complexes ( and ) showed the strongest cytotoxicity, namely, in HCT116-DoxR 2Dcells and were also capable of inducing the loss of cell viability in 3D HCT116-DoxR spheroids.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the cardiac effects of COVID-19 infection in paediatric patients and identify the correlations between clinical and laboratory data and the degree of cardiac involvement.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective data analysis was conducted on 64 paediatric patients at Gazi University Department of Pediatrics who were treated as inpatients with a diagnosis of COVID-19.
Rhodanine-3-acetic acid derivatives are attractive compounds with versatile effects. What is very important is that compounds of this type have many biological properties. They are tested, among others, as fluorescent probes for bioimaging and aldose reductase inhibitors.

The aim of our study was to evaluate whether muscle strength loss is present in patients with pulmonary hypertension and whether this test can be an alternative to 6-minute walk test.
Materials And Methods: The study included 39 healthy children who were admitted to the outpatient clinic and 16 children with a diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension who were being followed in our centre.
Objective: Echocardiography is a very useful tool for the diagnosis and evaluation of pulmonary hypertension (PH). This study was planned to investigate whether echocardiographic (ECHO) data of patients with PH are effective in the follow-up and course of treatment.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of the data from 26 PH patients was performed.
Background: Anatomy is a crucial part of medical education, and there have been attempts to improve this field by utilizing various methods. With the advancement of technology, three-dimensional (3D) materials have gained popularity and become a matter of debate about their effectiveness compared to two-dimensional (2D) sources. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of 3D PDFs compared to 2D atlases.

Methods: Patient forms to define sociodemographic and clinical features, the Questionnaire for Measuring Health-Related Quality of Life in Children and Adolescents (KINDL) to measure the quality of life of children, and the Parent-Child Relationship Test (Parental Attitude Research Instrument) to measure parental attitudes were used.
Results: The groups were similar in terms of age and sex.
Background: Aortic/arterial stiffness is a reliable, independent predictor and a risk factor for cardiovascular mortality. Arterial stiffness is assessed by pulse wave velocity and echocardiography. The purpose of this study is to analyse aortic/arterial stiffness in patients using echocardiographic and pulse wave velocity techniques.

Recent studies have suggested that inadequate vitamin D status may have an adverse effect on cardiovascular health. This study investigates the relationship between vitamin D levels and hemodynamic parameters in children with CHD.

Colchicine is an FDA-approved medicine that has been used for many years to prevent and treat gout flares as well as familial mediterranean fever. It is also used off-label to treat pericarditis, calcium pyrophosphate illness, and Behçet's syndrome. There are additional studies on the use of colchicine, which is accepted as the standard treatment for pericarditis in adults, post-pericardiotomy syndrome, post-operative and post-ablation atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disorders, prior to percutaneous coronary procedures, and myocarditis.

Treprostinil was approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for use in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension in 2002. Intravenous or subcutaneous treprostinil is used in pulmonary arterial hypertension patients in the functional classes of II-IV to alleviate exercise-related symptoms, or in cases where epoprostenol treatment should be reduced due to side effects. In this article, we describe three pediatric cases of pulmonary arterial hypertension in whom subcutaneous treprostinil was used.

This CHD, in which the aorta arises from the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery from the left ventricle, is often accompanied by one or several defects such as atrial septal defect or patent foramen ovale, ventricular septal defect and patent ductus arteriosus, which allow the transition between both parallel circulations. Rarely, the disease may be accompanied by left ventricular outflow tract obstruction (subpulmonary obstruction) and coarctation of the aorta.

We aimed to investigate the QoL, determine the potential risk factors for poor HRQoL in children with PAH, and assess the depression and anxiety of their families.
Methods: We performed a prospective cross-sectional study of children with PAH, healthy peers, and their parents.

Carbazole skeleton is the key structural motif of many biologically active compounds including synthetic and natural products. Based on the (E)-2-(2-(4-9H-carbazol-9-yl)benzylidene) hydrazinyl)thiazole as skeleton, three novel carbazole dyes were synthesized. The scientific analysis includes the effect of changing the strength of the activating substituents and their exchange for the deactivating substituent on the chemical and biological properties.

Recent progress in the area of modern technologies confirms that information is not only a commodity but can also become a tool for competition and rivalry among governments and corporations, or can be applied by ill-willed people to use it in their hate speech practices. The impact of information is overpowering and can lead to many socially undesirable phenomena, such as panic or political instability. To eliminate the threats of fake news publishing, modern computer security systems need flexible and intelligent tools.

High take-off coronary artery anomaly is a quite rare anomaly which is usually seen in isolated form and diagnosed incidentally. Association with tetralogy of Fallot is also rare and it is not one of the well-known coronary anomalies seen in this disease. Here, we describe high take-off right coronary artery in a 10-month-old female patient with tetralogy of Fallot which was diagnosed during catheter angiography.

In spite of this, it is unclear that telemedicine curricula in undergraduate medical education reflect the real importance by means of the effectiveness of these approaches. We aimed to systematically search and review the studies that are on undergraduate telemedicine curricula.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included 29 patients who were diagnosed as PAH and treated. The transcutaneous O2 saturation and heart rate levels were recorded before the test: baseline (Sat0, HR0), at the end of the test: exercise (Sat1, HR1) and 5 min after the test: recovery (Sat2, HR2).
Rationale And Objectives: The main aim of ultrasonography (US) examining thyroid nodules is to differentiate malignant nodules from benign nodules. Several professional societies and groups of investigators have defined guidelines such as Thyroid Imaging Reporting and Data System (TIRADS) to provide the standardized language and approach to thyroid nodules. This study is aimed to investigate the compatibility of such classification systems with the pathological diagnosis of nodules and evaluate the contribution of the Shear-wave elastography (SWE) and Doppler ultrasonography (DUS) findings.
