Purpose: To explore the effects of a single dose of uridine adenosine tetraphosphate (UpA) administered through the tail vein, on the blood pressure of mice.

Methods: The mice were separated into three groups: the UpA group, the norepinephrine (NA) group, and the α, β-methylene adenosine triphosphate (α, β-meATP) group. Each group of mice were injected drugs through the tail vein at 1, 3, 10, and 30 nmol/kg doses in an ascending order.

Anthocyanins, flavonoid pigments, are responsible for the purple and red hues in potato tubers. This study analyzed tubers from four potato cultivars-red RR, purple HJG, yellow QS9, and white JZS8-to elucidate the genetic mechanisms underlying tuber pigmentation. Our transcriptomic analysis identified over 2400 differentially expressed genes between these varieties.

The () gene is a key player in environmental stress response and has been identified in many multidimensional tube plant species. However, there are few studies on the gene in potato. In this study, we used genome-wide identification to identify 31 genes in potato.

Plant production in a plant factory is an innovative and smart idea to grow food anytime, anywhere, regardless of the outer environment. However, potato pre-basic seed tuber (PBST) production in a plant factory is a comparatively new initiative. Therefore, the aim of this study was to optimize the artificial LED light spectrum to produce PBST in a plant factory.

Article Synopsis
  • Lifeceramics (LC), made from zeolite and oyster shell, is studied for its potential antioxidant effects and its ability to impact serum uric acid (SUA) levels in male rats with hyperuricemia (HUA).
  • In the experiment, rats with HUA were treated with either distilled water, allopurinol (a known uric acid reducer), or LC water over five weeks.
  • Results showed that LC water effectively reduced SUA levels and improved blood flow parameters, indicating its potential as a treatment for conditions related to high uric acid.

Hyperuricemia is a risk factor for various diseases, but knowledge on acute hyperuricemia is still not sufficient. The present study was aimed to investigate the effect of acute hyperuricemia on red blood cells from hemorheological point of view, and to provide the reference for clinical treatment. The rats were gavaged with 500 mg/kg hypoxanthine and intraperitoneally injected with 100 mg/kg oxonate to induce the model of acute hyperuricemia.
