Introduction: Fat grafting often yields inconsistent and suboptimal results, necessitating improved fat processing techniques. A stromal vascular fraction (SVF) gel created using mechanical emulsification demonstrates superior retention rates to conventional Coleman fat grafts.
Methods: This study investigated the mechanisms at play by transplanting fat aspirates from liposuction patients-either processed as Coleman fat grafts or further refined into an SVF gel via mechanical shear force-onto the backs of nude mice.
Background: Lidocaine/prilocaine (EMLA) cream is a local anesthetic that is applied to the skin or mucosa during painful therapeutic procedures with few reported side effects.
Case Summary: Here, we report the use of dermatoscopy to identify a case of erythema with purpura, a rare side effect, after the application of 5% EMLA cream.
Conclusion: We conclude that erythema with purpura is caused by irritation and toxicity associated with EMLA, but the specific mechanism by which the toxic substance affects skin blood vessels is unclear.
Patient: Male, 4 months

Objective: To constitute a composite skin substitute that can proliferate well with epidermal stem cells and fibroblasts on collagen sponge.
Methods: Epidermal stem cells were selected by rapid attachment to collagen IV for 10-15 min and cultured on 3T3 feeder layers. Collagen was extracted from rat tail.
