Introduction: Pericardial effusion and cardiac tamponade are rare manifestations of cardiac sarcoidosis. This is a first case report that describes a patient with severe pericardial effusion and signs of cardiac tamponade with elevated carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA-125) levels, enlarged pericardial (PLN) and mediastinal lymph nodes (MLN), histologically confirmed as sarcoidosis.

Presentation Of Case: A 51-year-old female patient was admitted with complaints of sickness, shortness of breath on minimal exertion, swelling in lower extremities, and heaviness in right upper abdomen.

Objective: The aim of our study was to define predictors of cardiac compression development including clinical, electrocardiographic, echocardiographic, chest-X-ray and perioperative parameters and their diagnostic value.

Methods: Overall 243 patients with pericardial disease, among them 123 with compression (tamponade, constriction) and 120 without signs of compression were included in the study. Clinical, laboratory, electrocardiographic, chest-X-Ray, echocardiographic and perioperative data were included in the logistic regression analysis to define predictors of tamponade/constriction development.

Objective: We present the case of possible reverse type of TCM in a female patient presented with progressive left ventricular dysfunction and its rupture in pericardium.

Methods: The detailed history, physical examination, laboratory tests, electrocardiography, serial echocardiography, coronary angiography with left ventriculography were performed to diagnose possible Takotsubo cardiomyopathy in 63-year old woman admitted to our center with complaints of dyspnea, lightheadedness, weakness and signs of hypotension and history of inferior myocardial infarction, acute left ventricular aneurysm, and effusive pericarditis and pleuritis, developed after emotional stress 5 months ago.

Results: Clinical evaluation revealed unremarkable laboratory tests, normal troponin values, signs of old inferior myocardial infarction on electrocardiogram, and left ventricular (LV) dilatation and dysfunction, akinesia of LV infero-lateral wall with thinning and its rupture and blood shunting in pericardium.

Objective: We aimed to describe clinical, morphological, intraoperative, echocardiographic and electrocardiographic (ECG) associations of PR segment depression (PRsd), as well as its relationship with arrhythmias and outcomes in pericardial diseases (PD).

Methods: Overall, 79 patients among 197 patients with PD, referred to cardiac surgery center for treatment, were eligible for inclusion in the study. ECGs were analyzed for presence of PRsd, abnormal P-wave, low voltage QRS, QRS alternans, STj deviation and arrhythmias.

Objective: Cardiac echinococcosis is a rare pathology and in about half of cases it is not accompanied by other organs involvement. We report on our experience of surgical treatment of isolated cardiac echinococcosis (ICE).

Methods: Among 5 patients with ICE operated in our clinic 1 had pericardial and epicardial involvement, 1 patient had the single cyst in the apicolateral wall of the left ventricle and 3 patients had singular cysts of interventricular septum.

We report a case of multiple hydatid cysts of epicardium and pericardium with rupture and dissemination. The diagnosis was established by hemagglutinin test, echocardiography and computed tomography and confirmed by histological examination. Entirely, 12 cysts of epi- and pericardium and 1700 ml of pericardial fluid were removed during operation on the beating heart.
