Introduction: Advanced penile squamous cell carcinoma (pSCC) is a rare and aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis and an unmet need for biomarkers. We performed a retrospective evaluation of real-world efficacy, safety outcomes, and baseline inflammatory biomarkers in patients with advanced pSCC treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs).
Methods: We performed a retrospective review of patients with advanced pSCC who received ICIs from 2012 to 2023 at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

Background: Leiomyoma (LM) is the most commonly identified tumor in the genital tract, occurring in 70-80% of women. The only treatment option is surgery, which significantly influences healthcare costs and negatively influences women's survival and reproductive capacity. Therefore, identifying safe and effective chemopreventive and treatment modalities is needed.

Thirty male Wistar albino rats were divided into four groups: sham group (n = 10), IRI group (n = 10), vitamin B group (n = 10), vitamin B + ALA group (n = 10). In the IRI, vitamin B, and vitamin B + ALA groups, the rats underwent 45 min of hepatic ischemia followed by 60 min of reperfusion.

The goal of this study was to research the role of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) in the treatment of cytokine storm and critical illness neuromyopathy (CINM) in a rat sepsis model. Rats were assigned into three groups, and a feces intraperitoneal-injection group (FIP) procedure was carried out on 30 rats to induce a model of sepsis for critical illness polyneuromyopathy (CINM).

Inflammatory and metabolic markers are increasingly recognized for their prognostic value. This study aims to evaluate the association of various inflammatory and metabolic markers with ICU mortality.

A novel fixed topical combination cream (GN-037) with a lower concentration (0.0356%) of clobetasol 17-propionate (CP) was developed together with urea, salicylic acid, and retinoic acid to provide a better benefit-risk ratio.

We present a 74-year-old male with previously resected primary EMPD who presented with widespread PSMA-avid lesions without prostatic uptake, an elevated PSA >100, and a negative prostate biopsy. Based on this and immunohistological staining, recurrent EMPD was suspected.

The study aimed to determine the clinical characteristics, management, and long-term outcomes of patients with simple or complex post-intubation tracheal stenosis (PITS) who were admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).
Materials And Methods: Retrospective analysis of patients admitted to the ICU between June 2016 and June 2022 and diagnosed with PITS were performed until June 2023.
The impact of racial healthcare disparities has been well documented. Adverse social determinants of health, such as poverty, inadequate housing, and limited access to healthcare, are intricately linked to these disparities and negative health outcomes, highlighting the profound impact that social and economic factors have on individuals' overall well-being. Recent evidence underscores the role of residential location on individual health outcomes.

The objective of this study was to examine the correlation between preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative metabolic acidosis and the use of ASMs prior to craniotomy operations.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study evaluated patients who underwent intracranial surgery with craniotomy under general anaesthesia between May 2020 and April 2023 and used ASMs.
Cabozantinib is an oral multikinase inhibitor approved for treatment in metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC). We hypothesized that neoadjuvant cabozantinib could downstage localized tumors, facilitating partial nephrectomy, and facilitating surgery in patients with locally advanced tumors that would require significant adjacent organ resection. We, therefore, conducted a phase 2, single-arm trial of cabozantinib treatment for 12 weeks in 17 patients with locally advanced biopsy-proven non-metastatic clear cell RCC before surgical resection.

This trial evaluated these regimens and demonstrated efficacy with either regimen at 3 years. With further follow-up, longer-term results are reported here.

Importantly, nectin-4 expression in bladder cancer is associated with response to enfortumab vedotin, and PD-L1 expression is associated with responses to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs).
Methods: The authors conducted a retrospective review identifying 117 patients with advanced or metastatic BCDD who were treated at Winship Cancer Institute from 2011 to 2021.
Scabies, caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis mite burrowing into the skin, is a highly contagious disease characterized by intense nocturnal itching. Its global impact is considerable, affecting more than 200 million individuals annually and posing significant challenges to healthcare systems worldwide. Transmission occurs primarily through direct skin-to-skin contact, contributing to its widespread prevalence and emergence as a substantial public health concern affecting large populations.

The study compared pain intensity, morphine consumption, time to first morphine request, and postoperative satisfaction between the control group, which received standard multimodal analgesia, and the block groups, which received PENG or L-ESP block in addition to multimodal analgesia.

Methods: Patients diagnosed with acute cholecystitis in the emergency department and healthy individuals in the control group were included in the study. Routine blood count and biochemistry analyses were performed on the participants.
Background And Objectives: The objective of this study was to determine the correlation between the prognosis of patients admitted to a tertiary intensive care unit (ICU) and the admitted patient population, intensive care conditions, and the workload of intensive care staff.
Materials And Methods: This was a retrospective cross-sectional study that analyzed data from all tertiary ICUs (a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 59 units per month) of eight training and research hospitals between January 2022 and May 2023. We compared monthly data across hospitals and analyzed factors associated with patient prognosis, including mortality and pressure injuries (PIs).
Objective: To verify if assessment of the danger zone (DZ) in the mesial root of mandibular molars is affected by field of view (FOV) and voxel sizes in cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans.
Study Design: Forty mandibular molars were scanned by micro-computed tomography, creating the reference standard. The teeth were then submitted for CBCT scans with FOVs of 10 × 5.
