Background/objectives: The effect of sodium butyrate (NaB), β-glucan (βG) and vitamins in the diet on gut microbiome, cortisol level, lysozyme activity and growth parameters of juvenile hybrid sturgeon (♀ × ♂) was determined.

The phase of gonad maturity was based on histological analysis and the gonadosomatic index. Reproduction was performed by using three methods: spontaneous (natural spawning- NS groups): without hormones but with nests, semi-artificial (S groups) with hormones and nests, and artificial (A groups) with hormones and manual stripping of gametes.
