Malignant mesenchymal thyroid tumors are one of the rarest types of thyroid cancer. Clinically, these tumors present as a rapidly growing thyroid mass. Due to their rarity and nonspecific findings, they are not the first conditions that come to mind during differential diagnosis.

Evaluation and follow-up of patients diagnosed with hypophysitis: a cohort study.

Objective: Primary hypophysitis might be challenging to diagnose, and there is a lack of evidence regarding optimal treatment strategies due to rarity of the disease. We aim to investigate the clinical features and compare the outcomes of different management strategies of primary hypophysitis in a large group of patients recruited on a nationwide basis.

Incidental thyroid nodules on COVID-19-related thoracic tomography scans: a giant cohort.

Introduction: Computerized thoracic tomography (CT) imaging was extensively employed, especially in the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. An incidental thyroid nodule (ITN) is defined as a nodule not previously detected or suspected clinically but identified via an imaging study. The present study aimed to determine the incidence of thyroid nodules incidentally detected in thoracic CTs for the suspicion of COVID-19 pneumonia.

Development of a facile electrochemical sensor based on GCE modified with one-step prepared PNMA-CeO-fMWCNTs composite for simultaneous detection of UA and 5-FU.

In this study, a poly(-methyl aniline)-cerium oxide-functionalized MWCNTs (PNMA-CeO-fMWCNTs) composite was synthesized in a one-step preparation technique. As a highly efficient modifier, the composite was used to modify the glassy carbon electrode surface for simultaneous detection of uric acid (UA) and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). Morphological characterization of the GCE/PNMA-CeO-fMWCNTs was studied using scanning electron microscopy.

Removal of lead from aqueous solution using electrospun nanofibers: preparation, characterization, adsorption isotherm, and kinetic study.

Lead is one of the most hazardous toxic heavy metal ions in industrial wastewater. The removal of Pb(II) from aqueous environment is an extremely essential topic due to acquiring clean water resources and its significant impact on human health. Adsorption is an effective and the most widely used method for heavy metal removal from an aqueous medium.

Preconcentration of trace amount Cu(II) by solid-phase extraction method using activated carbon-based ion-imprinted sorbent.

In this study, preconcentration conditions of trace amounts of copper ions were investigated with solid-phase extraction (SPE) method by synthesizing activated carbon-based ion-imprinted sorbent (Cu(II)-IAC) with a novel and selective approach. Flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) was used for the determination of metal ions concentrations. For the characterization of the sorbents, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray (SEM/EDX) analysis, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were used.

Audiological involvement in patients with systemic sclerosis.

Objectives: The aim of the present study was to evaluate hearing loss in patients diagnosed with systemic sclerosis (SSc) and to investigate the relation between hearing loss, subtypes of the disease, its duration and clinical findings, and antibody positivity.

Methods: The study included 47 patients with SSc and 44 healthy controls. Audiometric, tympanometric, and otoacoustic emission measurements were applied to both groups.
