The purpose of this paper was to identify and evaluate differences in the attitudes to using FinTech products and services in Poland adopted by two study cohorts-one comprised of young customers, born no earlier than in 1990, and the other comprised of other adults. The main motivation for our research was to answer the question if young people growing up in the market economy will behave differently in the use of FinTech than older generations living in the former political and economic system. We also wanted to find the factors that determine the perception and willingness to use FinTech in the mentioned age groups.

Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of once-daily roflumilast foam 0.3% on scalp and body psoriasis.
Background: Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a debilitating neuromuscular disease resulting in children's mortality and disability. Nusinersen is available to all SMA patients in Poland since 2019.
Aim: To compare mortality or disease progression to mechanical ventilation in two patient cohorts before and after the program's introduction.

Unlabelled: The COVID-19 pandemic caused a major upheaval to the lives of people and placed a strain on societal mental health. The aim of this research is to estimate the impact of the pandemic on the mental condition of the Polish population measured through the consumption of relevant medication and medical leave of absence from the workplace.
Methods: We analyzed national-level data on the consumption of pharmaceuticals used in clinical practice in Poland in the treatment of depression and anxiety alongside medical absence in the workplace using the Interrupted Time Series model to estimate the significance of the pandemic.
High medication costs are one of the major barriers to patient adherence. Medication affordability might be improved by generic substitution. The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of the implementation of generic substitution mechanisms in Poland.

Shifting serotype distribution due to the indirect effect of infant vaccination with the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) may continue to increase the gap between 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPSV23) and PCV13 serotype coverage for older adults in the coming years. This clinical study (V110-029; NCT02225587) evaluated the safety and immunogenicity of sequential administration of PCV13 followed approximately 8 weeks later, or approximately 26 weeks later, by PPSV23 in healthy adults ≥50 years of age.

Methods: A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted according to Cochrane collaboration guidelines. The population of interest was adult patients with RA in remission or LDA.
Electrical stimulation thresholds required to elicit eyeblinks with either pontine or cerebellar interpositus stimulation were measured before and after classical eyeblink conditioning with paired pontine stimulation (conditioned stimulus, CS) and corneal airpuff (unconditioned stimulus, US). Pontine stimulation thresholds dropped dramatically after training and returned to baseline levels following extinction, whereas interpositus thresholds and input-output functions remained stable across training sessions. Learning rate, magnitude of threshold change, and electrode placements were correlated.

The surface layers were formed on titanium by plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) in the solutions which contain various amounts of Na(2)SiO(3)x5H(2)O, Na(3)PO(4) x12H(2)O and Ca(CH(3)COO)(2) xH(2)O. The layers were characterized using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) coupled with an energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) and an X-ray diffractometer (XRD). The titanium/oxide surface layer interface was analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).

The pigment was extracted from dried biomass using various organic solvents and purified using nanofiltration (NF) and nonporous membranes. Particle size had a great influence; PSC extractability from fines fraction of biomass (75-105 microm) was 1.

The acute dissociation procedure provides a simple means of isolating neurons from the mature mammalian central nervous system. The method was primarily devised to isolate neurons for patch-clamp electrophysiology. It may also prove useful for single-cell PCR, immunocytochemistry, sorting of fluorescently labeled cells, or long-term tissue culture of mature neurons.

This paper deals with the surface modification of titanium by sodium-ion implantation and with the effect of this modification on structure, corrosion resistance, bioactivity and cytocompatibility. The Na ions were implanted with doses of 1 x 10(17) and 4 x 10(17) ions/cm(2) at an energy of 25 keV. The chemical composition of the surface layers formed during the implantation was examined by secondary-ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and their microstructure--by transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

The paper presents the results of examinations of the corrosion resistance of titanium after its being subjected to the surface modification by the alkali- and heat-treatments. The material examined was commercially pure titanium (grade 2). The samples were soaked in an aqueous 10M NaOH solution at 60 degrees C for 24 h and subsequently heated at 500, 600, or 700 degrees C for 1 h.

Methods: A search on MEDLINE and of Merck data on file was conducted to identify studies that met the inclusion criteria. Meta-analysis inclusion criteria required that patients were treated with a single oral dose of rofecoxib 50 mg when they experienced moderate or severe pain after surgical extraction of > or = 2 third molars; study design involved patient randomization, double-blinding, and matching placebo, and onset data from individual patients were available.
Objective: The combined efficacy of selective and non-selective cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibition on the axial manifestations of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in the presence or absence of chronic peripheral arthritis was evaluated.
Methods: In a post hoc subgroup analysis of a 6 week, randomised, double blind, placebo controlled trial, 387 patients with active axial AS were randomised to receive etoricoxib 90 mg or 120 mg once a day, naproxen 500 mg twice daily, or placebo. Randomisation was stratified by the presence or absence of chronic peripheral arthritis.
The paper compares the effects of various surface modifications, ion implantation, alkaline treatment and anodic oxidation, upon the corrosion resistance and bioactivity of titanium. The chemical composition of the surface layers thus produced was determined by XPS, SIMS and EDS coupled with SEM. The structure of the layers was examined by TEM, and their phase composition by XRD.

Objective: To compare the rates of new use of gastroprotective agents and discontinuations due to dyspepsia with the COX-2 selective inhibitor etoricoxib compared with non-selective NSAIDs.
Research Design And Methods: This pre-specified combined analysis used data from nine randomized, double-blind, controlled, clinical trials with etoricoxib in patients with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic low back pain, or ankylosing spondylitis.
This study is concerned with the effect of dual implantation of calcium and phosphorus upon the structure, corrosion resistance and biocompatibility of titanium. The ions were implanted in sequence, first Ca and then P, both at a dose of 10(17) ions/cm2 at a beam energy of 25 keV. Transmission electron microscopy was used to investigate the microstructure of the implanted layer.
