The parasubthalamic nucleus (PSTN) is activated by refeeding after food deprivation and several PSTN subpopulations have been shown to suppress feeding. However, no study to date directly addressed the role of PSTN neurons activated upon food access in the control of ensuing food consumption. Here we identify consumption latency as a sensitive behavioral indicator of PSTN activity, and show that, in hungry mice, the ensemble of refeeding-activated PSTN neurons drastically increases the latency to initiate refeeding with both familiar and a novel, familiar food, but does not control the amount of food consumed.

We present pharmacokinetic (PK), efficacy, and safety results from pediatric participants (< 18 years of age) with COVID-19 who were treated with BAM + ETE.
Methods: In an addendum to the phase 2/3 BLAZE-1 clinical trial (NCT04427501), pediatric participants received open-label weight-based dosing (WBD, n = 94) based on exposure-matching to the authorized dose of BAM + ETE in adult participants.

Metalated phthalocyanines (Pc's) are robust and versatile molecular complexes, whose properties can be tuned by changing their functional groups and central metal atom. The electronic structure of magnesium Pc (MgPc)-structurally and electronically similar to chlorophyll-adsorbed on the Ag(100) surface is investigated by low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy, non-contact atomic force microscopy, and density functional theory. Single, isolated MgPc's exhibit a flat, fourfold rotationally symmetric morphology, with doubly degenerate, partially populated (due to surface-to-molecule electron transfer) lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals (LUMOs).

Methods & Materials: Following institutional regulatory approval, a standardized protocol for CTA of AAOCA was utilized for imaging. Blood volume of the aorta and coronaries were segmented from the DICOM images.
This study aims to assess the differences in pressure, fractional flow reserve (FFR) and coronary flow (with increasing pressure) of the proximal coronary artery in patients with anomalous aortic origin of a coronary artery with a confirmed ischemic event, without ischemic events, and before and after unroofing surgery, and compare to a patient with normal coronary arteries. Patient-specific flow models were 3D printed for 3 subjects with anomalous right coronary arteries with intramural course, 2 of them had documented ischemia, and compared with a patient with normal coronaries. The models were placed in the aortic position of a pulse duplicator and precise measurements to quantify FFR and coronary flow rate were performed from the aortic to the mediastinal segment of the anomalous right coronary artery.

The intervertebral disc's ability to resist load and facilitate motion arises largely from osmotic swelling pressures that develop within the tissue. Changes in the disc's osmotic environment, diurnally and with disease, have been suggested to regulate cellular activity, yet knowledge of in vivo osmotic environments is limited. Limiting the impact of wildlife damage in a cost effective manner requires an understanding of how control inputs change the occurrence of damage through their effect on animal density. Despite this, there are few studies linking wildlife management (control), with changes in animal abundance and prevailing levels of wildlife damage. We use the impact and management of wild pigs as a case study to demonstrate this linkage.
