The efficiency of the usage of natural low caloric concentrated protein-vegetable food product (LCCF) by 23 persons with excess body weight at the age of 30-44 years (the 1st group) and 30 hypertensive patients at remission stage and overweight at age 45-59 years old (the 2nd group) has been assessed. According to energy expenditure, all examined male persons were classified to II group of physical activity: PhysicalActivity Coefficient (PAC) was 1,35±0,14 and 1,34±0,22 respectively. As for dietary intake, authors revealed an excess of protein (up to 20,1%), fat (up to 17,2%) and daily caloric content over daily energy expenditure that led to an increase of body weight along with metabolic and liver function disorders.

The effect of polyethylene oxide of different molecular weight on the aggregation of erythrocytes has been investigated. It was shown that the addition to blood of polymers with molecular weight of 600 and 1 000 weakens this aggregation, whereas the addition of those with molecular weights of 4 000 and 6 000 completely prevents it, simultaneously decreasing their osmotic resistance. Polyethylene oxide with molecular weight from 20 000 to 1 000 000 increase the aggregation of erythrocytes and do not affect their osmotic resistance.

A saccharolytic action of insulin given orally with various synthetic polymers to rabbits was studied. Blood sugar level gave the greatest fall when insulin mixtures with strong electrolytes were used. In this case when the weight proportion of insulin-polymers was 1 : 5 insulin action was prolonged to 5 hours, addition of surfactants permitted to get an analogous saccharolytic effect with reduction of the insulin dose by half (50 AU per animal).

Various natural and synthetic interferon inducers stimulate postvaccination immunity to tick-borne encephalitis virus in mice. This capacity was found not only in macromolecular synthetic polyribonucleotides such as (poly I)-(poly C), (poly G)-(poly C), (poly A)-(poly U) and substances with much lower molecular weight such as copolymers of vinylpyrrolidone with maleic anhydride, crotonic acid or metacrylic acid but also in a low molecular interferon inducer tiloron. These and other interferon inducers examined (endotoxin S-typhi, statolon) exhibited no parallelism between the intensity of their stimulating effect of immunogenesis and levels of interferon production induced in mice and the associated resistance to tick-borne encephalitis.

An experimental study of the hypoglycemic action of polymeric derivatives of insulin was carried out by its enteral administration through a gastric tube into the stomach and into the oral cavity on 105 intract rabbits. A marked hypoglycemic effect significantly differing from the action of crystalline insulin was produced by enteral administration of insulin modified with polymeres. Changes in the character of binding of the protein with the polymere, of the molecular weight of the polymere and of its chemical nature proved to influence the value and the duration of action of insulin modified by polymeres.
