Anaplasma platys and Ehrlichia canis are members of the Anaplasmataceae family that cause disease in dogs and are mainly transmitted by Rhipicephalus sanguineus species group ticks. We performed a cross-sectional study on these pathogens across six bioclimatic regions of Chile, including 719 free-ranging rural dogs, 132 Andean foxes (Lycalopex culpaeus), and 82 South American gray foxes (Lycalopex griseus). Dog and fox blood samples were first screened for DNA of Anaplasmataceae followed by two Ehrlichia-specific protocols.

In recent period of human lifestyle, pharmaceutical products play a vital role in many perspectives. Due to this unpredictable usage of products, the unreacted components release into waterbodies in trace quantities.

Recent years have witnessed an increase in the use of optical devices for the analysis of body fluids. Several groups have carried out studies investigating the potential of saliva as a non-invasive and reliable clinical specimen for use in medical diagnostics.

Severe CoVID-19 infection may lead to acute respiratory distress syndrome and death of the patient, and is associated with hyperinflammation and cytokine storm. The broad spectrum immunosuppressant corticosteroid, dexamethasone, is being used to manage the cytokine storm and hyperinflammation in CoVID-19 patients.

We describe the diagnosis and successful management strategies employed in a case of deep keratitis due to co-infection with Acanthamoeba and Cladosporium sp.
Observations: Once the diagnosis of co-infection with both Acanthamoeba and Cladosporium was made, treatment was initiated with a combination of PHMB, chlorhexidine, natamycin, and voriconazole; to which the response was favorable.
An analysis of domestic and foreign literature on the predictors of prostate cancer recurrence are presented in the article. A deep analysis of both pathological and histological risk factors for progression was provided, as well as of laboratory and clinical predictors.

We evaluated river water effect on biofilm formation ability in terms of physical, morphological characteristics and chemical composition. A new morphotype SPAM (soft, pink and mucoid) was detected in Oranienburg strains S-76 and S-347 (environmental and clinical isolate).

As an invertebrate, the compound ascidian Botryllus schlosseri faces nonself only with innate immunity. In this species, we already identified the key components of the lectin and alternative complement activation pathways. In the present work, by mining the transcriptome, we identified a single transcript codifying for a protein, member of the C1q-domain-containing protein family, with a signal peptide followed by two globular C1q (gC1q) domains.

In contrast to secondary lymphoid organs, TLS are not imprinted during embryogenesis but are formed in non-lymphoid tissues in response to local inflammation. TLS structures exhibiting a variable degree of maturation are found in solid tumors.

Crystalloid fluids, a subset of intravenous (IV) fluid solutions are commonly used in clinical settings. The influence of these fluids on the functions of blood components are least explored. Raman spectroscopy combined with optical trapping has been widely used to evaluate the impact of external stress agents on red blood cells.

Here we report the case of a 45-year-old gentleman who presented with evolved inferior wall myocardial infarction with ongoing angina along with mild COVID-19. CAG showed normal epicardial coronaries except for distal right posterior descending coronary artery (RPDA) 100% occlusion on careful examination.

In this commentary, a simple, inexpensive solution has been proposed to reduce microplastic pollution and its mobility via ballast water. A screening chamber (with stainless steel three layered mesh) is proposed to be attached to the existing Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTSs) in cargo ships to filter back-flushed sea water from BWTSs.

Success of dental implants depends on the quality and quantity of local bone, implant designs, and surgical technique. The amount and density of available bone in the patient's edentulous site are primary determining factors in predicting individual patient success. Our present study aims to analyze the mean bone availability to the choice of implant width and length and bone width and length compared with the adjacent teeth and condensing osteitis.

Hence, HLA-B27 testing is routinely used in the diagnosis of AS. Objectives We aimed to establish the frequency of HLA-B27 in AS patients by flow cytometry and relate the differences between B27+ and B27- cases to the serum concentrations of rheumatoid arthritis factor (RA), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and C-reactive protein (CRP).

Histopathologically, it shows biphasic population composed of small round to ovoid with occasional spindle cells and islands of well differentiated cartilage. The study aimed at retrospectively analysing the clinical, pathological, radiological features of these cases in our institution.

Endoscopy and multiphase contrast enhanced computed tomography (MCECT) are the presently employed two important methods for this purpose. Still there is a lacuna in the methods of precise estimation of amount of bleed, which at the moment are somewhat unreliable and subjectively evaluated.
