Results of the study of absorbed dose formed in organs and tissues of mice after administration of new therapeutic radiopharmaceutical on the base of 103Pd and albumin microspheres (MSA) are presented. Pharmacokinetic parameters of preparation distribution in the body of animals were experimentally determined and then absorbed doses were calculated using MCNP code for the developed mathematical model of mouse. It was shown that absorption of 103Pd-MSA in tumor, physical properties of 103Pd and daughter radionuclide 103mRh provide a targeted irradiation of tumor as compared with the adjusting tissues and critical organs.

Lymphocytes isolated from diffuse toxic goiter (Graves' disease, GD) stimulate the proliferation of "normal" thyrocytes (isolated from euthyroid goiter) in primary culture, and give them the properties of GD-thyrocytes (loss of sensitivity to the growth-promoting factors of FCS and lesser capacity of binding antibodies from GD patients' serum). The complement-free sera of GD patients (but not the sera of patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, HT) induce the death of "normal" thyrocytes more rarely than full-complement sera do. Both types of serum cytotoxicity are manifested on GD-thyrocytes much more rarely than on "normal" cells.

Expression of DNA sequences, related to MMTV env gene, in peripheral blood lymphocytes, which was strictly specific for human mammary carcinoma, has been previously reported. These sequences (homologous to env gene site coding for MMTV gp52 envelope antigen) expressed in T cells can play the key role in virus infection transmission and propagation. Expression of DNA sequences homologous to sequences of env gene of mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) in the lymphocytes of patients with breast cancer and in subjects at a high risk of breast cancer has been reported. Antigen analogous to envelope protein gp52, product of MMTV env gene, is detected in T lymphocytes of virtually all patients with breast cancer and extremely rarely in T cells of controls, where its expression is confined to B cells. The results were evaluated versus certain risk factors of breast cancer. The presence of humoral antibodies specifically recognizing structural proteins of murine mammary tumor virus was studied in indirect immuno-enzymatic reaction, in 79 patients with suspected tumors of the breast. Eighty patients with multinodular colloidal euthyroid goiter were examined. Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) test was carried out in 22 patients and 7 healthy women. To clarify the value of autoantibodies as risk factors of complications in various endocrine abnormalities, the incidence of autoantibodies to thyroid microsomal antigen (ATMA), thyroglobulin, and the surface antigens of the rat islet, adrenal cortex, adenohypophyseal cells and human skin fibroblasts was studied in patients with insulin-dependent mellitus (IDDM), at the onset of the disease and during one-year insulin therapy, non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM), Hashimoto thyroiditis, Graves' disease, diabetes associated with thyroidal dysfunction, euthyroid polynodular goiter, Schmidt and polyglandular syndromes and in the population. The antibodies were determined by ELISA. Polyclonal activation of the immune system was found in all abnormalities, except in polyglandular in children.

The clinical onset of insulin-dependent diabetes (IDD) is characterized by the onset of circulation of autoantibodies to beta-cells. Thirty-three newly detected IDD patients and 14 newly detected patients with noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus were examined for autoantibodies to antigen P 64-69, to surface antigen of islet cells, to thyrocyte microsomal fraction, thyroglobulin, hypophysis, fibroblasts; the levels of circulating immune complexes were measured as well. IDD debut was found associated with the appearance of antibodies to pancreatic islet cells, thyroid, thyroglobulin, hypophysis, fibroblasts, this indicating a polyclonal activation of the immunity system.

In order to investigate the role of autoantibodies in the pathogenesis of autoimmune thyroid diseases and for clinicoimmunological control of treatment, an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the determination of autoantibodies against human thyroid microsomal antigens (TMA) was developed. ELISA was evaluated using sera from 156 patients with different thyroid pathology and diabetes mellitus and from 54 healthy donors. The paper is devoted to a study of the pathogenetic relationship of endocrine ophthalmopathy with thyroid diseases. Altogether 76 patients with endocrine ophthalmopathy combined with various thyroid lesions (diffuse toxic goiter, Hashimoto's disease, primary hypothyrosis) and without thyroid diseases were investigated. The content of antithyroid antibodies (AtAb) in the blood of patients with Hashimoto's goiter was studied over time, namely during the treatment with thyroid drugs and after surgical interventions of different scope. The patients' groups with diverse changes in the AtAb titers during the conservative treatment were revealed. The analogous types of the time-course of changes in antibodies to thyroglobulins (AbTg) were discovered after a surgical intervention irrespective of the operation scope whereas the persistence of antibodies to microsomal antigen (AbMa) after the operation depended on the mass of the remaining thyroid tissue.

Autoimmune thyroid diseases (especially diffuse toxic goiter) are characterized by a higher frequency of the detection and concentration of serum thyroglobulin. The frequency of the detection of antibodies to thyroglobulin in Hashimoto's thyroiditis was higher and their concentration lower than in diffuse toxic goiter. The frequency of the detection of antibodies to microsomal thyroid antigen in autoimmune thyroid diseases was lower than that of antibodies to thyroglobulin and did not depend on a type of disease.
