Background: Approximately 10% of newborns require resuscitation at delivery or during a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) stay. Neonatal intensive care unit caregivers competent in providing neonatal resuscitation decrease perinatal mortality and improve neonatal outcomes. Infrequency of resuscitation events, lack of repetition, and inexperience leave caregivers feeling un-prepared for emergency situations.
