Complete Molar Pregnancies with a Coexisting Fetus: Pregnancy Outcomes and Review of Literature.

 The objective of the study was to review the obstetric outcomes of complete hydatidiform molar pregnancies with a coexisting fetus (CHMCF), a rare clinical entity that is not well described.  We performed a retrospective case series with pathology-confirmed HMCF. The cases were collected via solicitation through a private maternal-fetal medicine physician group on social media.

Successful treatment of severe sepsis with recombinant activated protein C during the third trimester of pregnancy.

Background: Severe sepsis in pregnancy is associated with multiorgan failure and a high risk of death for the mother and fetus.

Case: We present the case of a pregnant patient at 26 weeks of gestation with severe sepsis secondary to pneumonia. She was admitted to the intensive care unit and started on combination antibiotics and bilevel positive airway pressure.
