This case report includes an extremely rare and intriguing presentation of takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TCM), triggered by forceful vomiting in the setting of gastroparesis, a condition characterized by delayed gastric emptying. TCM is a reversible form of cardiomyopathy that typically occurs following a severe emotional or physical stressor. In this exceptional case, we present a patient with an acute severe episode of gastroparesis, followed by TCM, devoid of any recognizable emotional or physical stressors.

Intestinal polypoid lymphangiectasia is an uncommon disorder involving an improperly formed enteric lymphatic system. It is characterized by lymphatic vessel dilatation with impaired drainage or obstruction of the lymph from the intestine. In this report, we present a case of a 73-year-old male patient with chronic intermittent left lower quadrant abdominal pain for one year who was found to have a sigmoid colon polyp on a colonoscopy.

Objective: To study the distribution of isoforms of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and its receptors VEGFR1 and VEGFR2 in pterygia and to compare it with that in healthy conjunctivas.

Design: Nonrandomized comparative (cadaver controlled) study with histopathologic correlations.

Methods: Tissue specimens from 75 patients treated for primary pterygia were analyzed using immunohistochemical studies as well as different molecular biological examinations.
