The crystal structure of the title silver(I) complex, [Ag(NO)(CHNS)], has monoclinic (2/) symmetry, with the silver(I) atom and the nitrate group sitting on a twofold rotation axis. The complex also exhibits a thienyl-ring flip disorder, which is common for unsubstituted thio-phene rings.

We report here on a novel type of multifunctional cytoprotective material applied to coat living pancreatic islets. The coating utilizes hydrogen-bonded interactions of a natural polyphenol (tannic acid) with poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) deposited on the islet surface via non-ionic layer-by-layer assembly.

DR15 has also been associated with favorable outcomes (reduced acute graft-versus-host disease [aGVHD] and relapse) after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant. To elucidate the impact of DR15 on transplantation outcomes, we conducted a retrospective study of 2891 recipients of first allogeneic stem cell transplant from HLA-matched sibling donors for the treatment of acute leukemia, chronic myeloid leukemia, or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) between 1990 and 2007.

The median patient age was 11 years, the median time from diagnosis to first relapse was 36 months, and the median time from first relapse to second relapse was 26 months. Stem cell sources were bone marrow (n = 115), peripheral blood (n = 11), and cord blood (n = 29).
