Improving hospital sepsis care using PAs and NPs on a rapid response team.

Sepsis carries a high mortality in the United States. Hospitals across the country are working to find new ways to recognize, treat, and streamline care for patients with sepsis. At an academic medical center in the Midwest, a quality improvement project was developed using a sepsis rapid response team with physician associates/assistants (PAs) and NPs.
