Public Health and School Health Partnership for a Web-Based Physical Activity Resource.

Background: With physical activity levels in children and youth decreasing as their obesity rates rise, collaborations between public health and school health professionals for physical activity interventions are recommended. Physical activity interventions at the school site and those with community involvement in program planning have demonstrated positive outcomes.

Methods: As schools are a vital part of community physical activity promotion for students, public health and school health partners in one state created a brain energizers/movement integration website to support 2 components of a comprehensive school physical activity program: "Physical activity integrated into the school day" and "Staff involvement.

Effect of a rapid e-learning module and brief interprofessional simulation event on medical and nursing student collaborative attitudes and behaviors.

Objectives Undergraduate nursing and first-year medical students participated in a brief, scenario-based, interprofessional event. The experimental group only was provided an innovative, rapid e-learning instructional module focused on interprofessional roles/responsibilities and communication prior to the event. Methods Pre-post attitudes toward physician-nurse collaboration were surveyed, and collaborative behaviors were observed during the event.

Educational and home-environment asthma interventions for children in urban, low-income, minority families.

Objective: This review examined the impact of environmental change and educational interventions targeting young children from minority groups living in urban environments and who were from low-income families.

Data Sources: A scoping methodology was used to find research across six databases, including CINAHL, ERIC, PsycINFO, PubMed, MEDLINE, and EMBASE.

Study Selection: 299 studies were identified.

College Students' Perceptions of Worry and Parent Beliefs: Associations with Behaviors to Prevent Sun Exposure.

More research is needed to understand how attitudes impact behaviors that afford sun protection. The current study examined the impact of students' perceptions of parental beliefs about sun exposure and its influence on their practiced sun protection behaviors and worry about sun exposure. Participants were college students ( = 462) at a large Midwestern university.
