Penicillin allergy delabeling is an important component of antimicrobial stewardship and improves patient outcomes. We demonstrated the successful use of a nurse-initiated questionnaire to remove inappropriate penicillin allergy labels in inpatients. Nurses can play a key role in improving antibiotic allergy assessment and more broadly in interprofessional antimicrobial stewardship.

Background: A patient's impression of quality of care is strongly influenced by pain management.

Materials And Methods: We sought to understand the process of pro re nata (PRN) pain medication administration through direct observation and use of timestamped data from the electronic medical record (EMR). The total time from nurse notification to administration was compared between PRN narcotics, non-narcotic pain, and nonpain medications.
