We introduce SentenTree, a novel technique for visualizing the content of unstructured social media text. SentenTree displays frequent sentence patterns abstracted from a corpus of social media posts. The technique employs design ideas from word clouds and the Word Tree, but overcomes a number of limitations of both those visualizations.

Disease progression is often complex and seemingly unpredictable. Moreover, patients often respond in dramatically different ways to various treatments, and determining the appropriate intervention for a patient can sometimes be difficult. In this paper, we describe an interactive visualization-based system for intervention analysis and apply it to patients at risk of developing congestive heart failure (CHF).

Specifying event sequence queries is challenging even for skilled computer professionals familiar with SQL. Most graphical user interfaces for database search use an exact match approach, which is often effective, but near misses may also be of interest. We describe a new similarity search interface, in which users specify a query by simply placing events on a blank timeline and retrieve a similarity-ranked list of results.
