Background: Tractors emit high intensity noise and prolonged exposure to high intensity noise causes hearing loss to the drivers.

Objective: The aim of this study was to measure noise intensity at the tractor drivers' ear level and hearing loss among tractor drivers.

Methods: Noise intensity was measured on 6 models of tractors which were operated with 5 different tillage implements.

Aflatoxins produced by the species are highly toxic, carcinogenic, and cause severe contamination to food sources, leading to serious health consequences. Contaminations by aflatoxins have been reported in food and feed, such as groundnuts, millet, sesame seeds, maize, wheat, rice, fig, spices and cocoa due to fungal infection during pre- and post-harvest conditions. Besides these food products, commercial products like peanut butter, cooking oil and cosmetics have also been reported to be contaminated by aflatoxins.

This study aims to quantify dust exposure among the workers in four different industrial settings: rice mills, flour mills, oil mills, and tea factories and to compare the obtained data with the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of Indian Union Ministry of Labour as well as to compare the dust exposure across activities and seasons. RespiCon(TM) particle sampler was used for collecting dust concentration in the breathing zone of the workers. In total, 149 workers participated in the study and 204 samples were collected.
