Background: The treatment decisions for shoulder instability often necessitate surgical intervention, with glenoid bone loss being a key factor. Currently, various techniques exist to identify glenoid bone loss, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. This study introduces the Coraco-Gleno-Scapular (CGS) line as a tool for assessing critical glenoid bone defects.

Aim: The present study compared the safety, efficacy, and tolerability of the new fixed-dose combination (FDC) of telmisartan 40 mg + bisoprolol 5 mg (TBP) tablets with the existing comparator FDC telmisartan 40 mg + metoprolol succinate ER 50 mg (TMS) tablets in patients with stage 1 and stage 2 hypertension.

Methodology: The multicentric, double-blind, parallel-group, comparative, prospective, phase-III clinical study involved 264 subjects with stage 1 and stage 2 hypertension from 10 centres across India. The selected subjects were randomized into two groups: group A received the TMS and group B received the new FDC TBP.

Introduction Hypertension (HTN) is considered one of the most frequent life-threatening noncommunicable illnesses. Because HTN has a significant public health impact on cardiovascular health status and healthcare systems in India, it is critical to study Indian clinicians' approaches to HTN management. Methodology This was a cross-sectional, multicentric, non-interventional, and single-visit study that aimed to gather data from across India and examine sociodemographic characteristics and clinician treatment choices in the management of HTN in Indian individuals.

Aim: Obstetric patients presenting to the intensive care units (ICU) with or without underlying medical or surgical comorbidities can be a challenge to both the treating obstetrician and the intensivist. They occasionally present with near-miss events which if left untreated, can result in death.

Objectives: To study the prevalence, indications of ICU admissions, near-miss events, and their effect on mortality in obstetric and puerperal patients

Material & Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of the health records of all the obstetric and puerperal patients (pregnant and until 6 weeks postpartum) admitted to our tertiary care hospital from January 2019 to December 2020.

Background: IL-6 receptor antagonist tocilizumab (TCZ) has been used in several reported studies in the treatment of COVID-19 pneumonia and pieces of evidence are still emerging.

Methods: All patients with COVID-19 pneumonia showing features of hyperinflammatory syndrome receiving TCZ at a tertiary care center in India were included in the study and a retrospective descriptive analysis was done.

Results: Between May 2020 to August 2020, 21 patients received TCZ out of which 13 survived and 8 died.

The biosynthesis of ZnO nanoparticles was synthesized by biogenic reduction of applied Cucurbita seed extract. The powder X-ray diffraction pattern displayed the high crystalline nature of synthesized ZnO nanoparticles and the crystallite size was calculated at 35 nm range. The Fourier Transform Infra-Red study revealed the functional groups of biogenic reduction and vibrational bands present in the synthesized nanoparticles.

The dominance of multi drug resistance in the clinically significant bacteria led to urgency in the development of new antibiotics with novel mechanism of action. Among the biochemical targets explored for selective toxicity, molecular mechanisms involving cell division remained focal point for novel antimicrobial drug discovery. For this purpose we have performed in-silico studies of FtsZ protein and obtained benzimidazolium compounds as potential hits.

Organic Uronium 3-carboxy-4-hydroxybenzenesulfonate (UCHBS) nonlinear optical single crystal was grown by solution growth technique. The solubility and nucleation studies were performed for UCHBS at different temperatures 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 and 55°C. The crystal structure of UCHBS was elucidated from single crystal X-ray diffraction study.

An organic nonlinear optical bulk single crystal, Ammonium 3-carboxy-4-hydroxy benzenesulfonate monohydrate (ACHBS) was successfully grown by solution growth technique. Single crystal X-ray diffraction study confirms that, the grown crystal belongs to P21/c space group. Powder X-ray diffraction and high resolution X-ray diffraction analyses revealed the crystallinity of the grown crystal.

Nonlinear optical (NLO) organic compound, 4-bromobenzaldehyde-4'-N'-methylstilbazolium tosylate was synthesized by reflux method. The formation of molecular complex was confirmed from (1)H NMR, FT-IR and FT-Raman spectral analyses. The single crystals were grown by slow evaporation solution growth method and the crystal structure and atomic packing of grown crystal was identified.

A series of 2-{4-[4-(2,5-disubstituted thiazolyl)phenylethyl] piperazin-1-yl}-1,8-naphthyridine-3-carbonitriles were synthesized in an effort to prepare novel atypical antipsychotic agents. The compounds were synthesized either by microwave irradiation technique or by conventional synthesis and were characterized by spectral data (IR, (1)H NMR, and MS) and the purity was ascertained by microanalysis. The D(2) and 5-HT(2A) affinity of the synthesized compounds was screened in vitro by radioligand displacement assays on membrane homogenates isolated from rat striatum and rat cortex, respectively.

The effect of rifampicin pretreatment on the pharmacokinetics of celecoxib was investigated in 12 healthy male human volunteers. After an overnight fast, celecoxib 200 mg was administered to the volunteers, either alone or after 5 days pretreatment with once daily dose of 600 mg rifampicin. Serum concentrations of celecoxib were estimated by reverse phase HPLC.

The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of a single dose of cephalexin on the pharmacokinetics of metformin in healthy human volunteers. A 2 x 2 double blind randomized crossover study was conducted in 12 healthy human volunteers. Each subject received orally either 500 mg of metformin with a placebo or a combination of 500 mg of metformin and 500 mg of cephalexin.

A highly solvating copolymer was prepared in high yield by introducing a flexible crosslinker, 1,4-butanedioldimethacrylate, into the polystyrene matrix by a free radical aqueous suspension polymerization. A 2 mol% crosslinked resin showed rigidity and mechanical characteristics comparable to those of divinylbenzene-crosslinked polystyrene (Merrifield resin, DVB-PS) support. Swelling and solvation characteristics of the new resin, BDDMA-PS, were much higher than DVB-PS support in all solvents used for solid phase peptide synthesis.
