The ability to flexibly categorize object concepts is essential to semantic cognition because the features that make two objects similar in one context may be irrelevant and even constitute interference in another. Thus, adaptive behavior in complex and dynamic environments requires the resolution of feature-based interference. In the current case study, we placed visual and functional semantic features in opposition across object concepts in two categorization tasks.

The Working Party of Directors of Hospital Cardiology Departments (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Leitender Kardiologischer Krankenhausärzte, ALKK) in Germany set up a pilot project to analyse whether by direct communication with patients by a database centre the expenditure incurred in collecting complete data can be decisively reduced and full documentation of outcome can in this way be obtained even for a large multi-centre patient cohort.

Mantle cell (centrocytic) non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (MCL) is a malignant tumour with unique biological features. The pathogenesis of MCL seems to be strongly associated with aberrant function of the cell cycle. 110 cases of MCL have been analysed for their cytomorphological features, mitotic and proliferation indices, bcl-1 rearrangements, p53 expression patterns and DNA content by both interphase cytogenetic as well as DNA flow cytometric analyses.

At the age of 46 years an erythropoietic protoprophyria had been diagnosed by an excessive protoporphyrinemia. Meanwhile, in consequence of the protoporphyria's erythrohepatic progression, a biliary liver cirrhosis developed, associated with portal hypertension and marked splenomegalie.

After lengthy exposure to sun radiation an erythema with blisters, abdominal discomfort and jaundice developed (total bilirubin 7.

A method for the determination of protein-bound SDS is described. The SDS binding capacity of BSA is found to be 250 +/- 50 micrograms SDS per 500 micrograms of BSA.

The SDS binding capacities of endosperm proteins determined in phosphate buffer (pH 6.0) are very low.
