Molecular hydrogen inhalation modulates resting metabolism in healthy females: findings from a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study.

However, experimental and clinical studies have shown that molecular hydrogen has anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and strong selective antioxidant effects. Background/aim: The study aims to describe the role of diabetes in patients with heart failure.

Methods: In all, 1052 chronic heart failure patients were included in the FARmacology and NeuroHumoral Activation (FAR NHL) multicenter prospective registry. They had ejection fraction below 50% and were on stable medication for at least 1 month.

Methods: A nationwide prospective two-center study investigated changes in the coronary artery vasculature by highly automated 3-D optical coherence tomography (OCT) analysis at 1 month and 12 months after heart transplant (HTx). Myocardial Recovery in Recent Onset Dilated Cardiomyopathy: Role of and Cardiac Fibrosis.

Background: Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a major cause of heart failure and carries a high mortality rate. Myocardial recovery in DCM-related heart failure patients is highly variable, with some patients having little or no response to standard drug therapy. A genome-wide association study may agnostically identify biomarkers and provide novel insight into the biology of myocardial recovery in DCM.

We studied how levels of FTO and ALKBH5 proteins changed during mouse embryonic development, aging, cardiomyogenesis, and neuroectodermal differentiation. Aims: The goal of this study was to determine whether sex and age differences exist for soluble ST2 (sST2) for several cardiovascular diseases (CVDs).

Methods: We examined sST2 levels using an ELISA kit for myocarditis ( = 303), cardiomyopathy ( = 293), coronary artery disease (CAD) ( = 239), myocardial infarct (MI) ( = 159), and congestive heart failure (CHF) ( = 286) and compared them to controls that did not have CVDs ( = 234).

Results: Myocarditis occurred in this study in relatively young patients around age 40 while the other CVDs occurred more often in older individuals around age 60.

Implementation of an Embedded System into the Internet of Robotic Things.

The article describes the use of embedded systems in the Industrial Internet of Things and its benefits for industrial robots. For this purpose, the article presents a case study, which deals with an embedded system using an advanced microcontroller designed to be placed directly on the robot. The proposed system is being used to collect information about industrial robot parameters that impact its behavior and its long-term condition.

Role of genetics in the development of cardiac allograft vasculopathy.

Background: The association between genetic polymorphisms and early cardiac allograft vasculopathy (CAV) development is relatively unexplored. Identification of genes involved in the CAV process may offer new insights into pathophysiology and lead to a wider range of therapeutic options.

Methods: This prospective study of 109 patients investigated 44 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within the susceptibility loci potentially related to coronary artery disease, carotid artery intima-media thickness (cIMT), and in nitric oxide synthase gene.
