Background And Purpose: This study evaluates the early clinical performance of the new Artisse Intrasaccular Device (Artisse ISD), a self-expandable intrasaccular flow diverter, for treating wide-necked aneurysms (WNAs). We report initial safety and efficacy outcomes in the first cohort of patients treated with this novel device.
Methods: Prospective clinical and radiological data were collected for all patients treated with the Artisse ISD at three Austrian neurovascular centers from July 2023 to August 2024.

Background And Aims: In patients with atrial fibrillation, oral anticoagulation therapy is indicated for both primary and secondary prevention of stroke/systemic embolism. Though direct oral anticoagulants with greater safety and efficacy than warfarin were introduced into clinical practice at the beginning of the last decade, even now not all patients with AF have adequate preventative anticoagulant treatment. The present study aimed to compare the evaluation of carotid stenosis severity using four duplex sonography (DUS) measurements, including peak systolic velocity (PSV), PSV ratio in stenosis and distal to stenosis (PSV ratio), end-diastolic velocity (EDV), and B-mode, with computed tomography angiography (CTA), and to evaluate the impact of plaque morphology on correlation between DUS and CTA.
Methods: Consecutive patients with carotid stenosis of ≥40% examined using DUS and CTA were included.

Nowadays, there are still many diseases with limited or no reliable methods of early diagnosis. A popular approach in clinical diagnostic research is Raman spectroscopy, as a relatively simple, cost-effective, and high-throughput method for searching for disease-specific alterations in the composition of blood plasma. However, the high variability of the experimental designs, targeted diseases, or statistical processing in the individual studies makes it challenging to compare and compile the results to critically assess the applicability of Raman spectroscopy in real clinical practice.
